          Ice Picks: NHL Bets
          -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Colorado Avalanche at Minnesota Wild

The Colorado Avalanche overcame a rough morning to down the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 Saturday night.

The team learned earlier in the day that captain Joe Sakic would not play versus the Lightning and that the team doesn't know when the future Hall of Famer will return from his back injury. Colorado also had to put defenseman Adam Foote on injured reserve with an ailing neck, back and knee.

Saturday's win was just the Avs third in seven games. Their offense is sporadic, leaving the team with an average of less than one goal per game in those losses. Colorado is getting outscored 26-40 on the road this season.

          Pick: Minnesota -160

Toronto Maple Leafs at Los Angeles Kings

The Kings are gaining momentum with back-to-back wins last week. They allowed just three goals in those wins getting solid performances from Jason LaBarbera and Erik Ersberg.

Los Angeles exploded for five goals against the Chicago Blackhawks, improving its record at the STAPLES Center to 7-5-1-2 on the season.

The Kings are sixth in home-ice scoring with 42 goals in La-La Land. They've won the last two games against the Maple Leafs, who have dropped six of their last eight contests.

          Pick: Los Angeles -125

Orlando Magic at Boston Celtics [7:30 PM ET]

Magic:Orlando is dealing with a rash of injuries to its backcourt, with Mickael Pietrus, Jameer Nelson and Keith Bogans all out. That didn't stop the Magic from picking up a 110-96 victory against Indiana on Saturday though, as Dwight Howard had one of his best games of the season with 32 points and 21 rebounds. “I have the word dominating written all over my house and I talk about it a lot before every game,” Howard said. “I think about dominating the whole game. I’ve got to have that type of mentality every night for our team to be successful.” He is averaging 16.1 points and 11.1 rebounds during his career against the Celtics.

Magic are 2-11 ATS in the last 13 meetings at Boston.
The UNDER is 17-5 in Orlando's last 22 road games.

Celtics (-8, O/U 189.5):It's hard to believe Boston could be playing better defense than last season, but that's exactly what this team is doing. The Celtics are holding opponents to 90.1 points per game on 40.8 percent shooting after leading the league last season. While they haven't been as dominant in terms of margin of victory, they still own the most wins in the NBA with 16. “We’re grinding them out,” Boston leading scorer Paul Pierce said. “It’s a tough schedule with all these back-to-back games, but it’s going to pay us a favor late in the season when we don’t have as many.”

Home team is 20-6 ATS in the last 26 meetings.
The UNDER is 20-7 in Boston's last 27 Monday games.
