If they are so good how come they got walloped in two of those games by Sox in June during that run and needed miracle win to pull out game 2?

Savage, you're talking about a series that happened 4 MONTHS AGO - Marlins were barely a .500 team back then. They've played well over .600 ball since then, confidence level way up, much more comfortable with McKeon, they've added Conine, Cabrera now a major player - no comparison. I would be much more worried about tonight's matchup with the Rocket in New York. But I will say that the Marlins - Red Sox would be an entertaining series - always nice to have some new blood in there.

I only meant to say that if as previous poster said Marlins were hottest team since May, Sox banged them around real well during June when run was in effect.

          hey savage

first of all i'm rooting for the sox tonight so best of luck.pedro pitching in yankee stadium in game 7..you can't ask for anything more as a sox fan.

but as for your question dude, what happened in june between these 2 teams has about as much impact as what happened last june this time of year.throw regular season stats out the window they are meaningless.the cubs and giants both dominated the fish in the regular season and they're both at home stalking up on world series party favors.

the marlins are on a roll..playing pressure free and coming up with some of clutchest big time baseball i have ever seen(i'm 34 years old).they seriously have it going on.i think their starting pitching on the whole is better than boston's,and they are simply smacking the shit out of the ball right now.add an enormous advantage in team speed..i just think they are a better all around ball club right now and will beat either the sox or yankees in the world series.

and they will be huge dogs again and i will cash in again.

            Meteor-We agree on 1/2 otherwise.
To me if Sox can finally get monkey off their back by defeating Yankees in a deciding game, the sheer momentum and confidence will get them by the Marlins.
Even in spite of fact Sox haven't much in playoffs, I say that those bats will once again come alive against the Marlins as they did in June, and Sox after 85 years will finally get one;no matter how you slice it, when Sox hit, they are a better hitting team than Marlins, plain and simple.
No point in saying any more until/if Sox get by "small" obstacle tonight.

i like them quite a bit tonight but the sheer weight of history is making this a small play for me.i'll pray that the ghosts keep their nose out of this one and the sox finally take those yankee bastards down.
