This guy lives for Hockey and thinks it is the best thing since Vaseline was invented. He also (I thought) researched and entered a fantasy hockey league ... and he thinks Sean Avery plays for the Rangers? Huh?? Better get caught up with the rosters as betting begins tomorrow!

Me neither. I dont understand it myself. Maybe a better chance to win the cup I guess. Not that the Pens are slouches.

Exactly, and i still think going through the East is alot easier than going through the West to get to the cup. He must have hated Pittsburgh .........

Could be. A good chance for the cup this year, get a big payday in the upcoming offseason. At the way the economy is goin, he better not expect to big of a paycheck next year.

It's sad! I grew up playing hockey. It was my passion and my favorite sport. There is no sporting event more exciting than NHL playoff hockey. Four to seven games of the same team and players physically beating on each other. The demand physically is overwhelming. The electricity is unmatched at any other sporting event.

All that being said the sport has lost its luster. The game has changed for the worse. Jacques Lemaire, the Devils ex-coach is the primary reason. His coaching style and the play of the Devils in the mid-90s changed the game. They slowed the game down with lots of clutching and grabbing. Lemaire's Devils team played the left wing trap to perfection. It completely changed how the game was played. Hockey became a total BORE. Limited scoring. The skilled players weren't able to display their athletic ability.

Over the past few seasons, thankfully the NHL has taken strides to return the game to its skilled players.

It is still nowhere near the 80's when the Islanders and Oilers RULED ... Scoring 5 or more goals seemingly on a nightly basis. Now that was fun hockey to watch!
