    I just can't imagine that this was statistically the right decision. It's not like Marlon Byrd is Mario Mendoza. It all worked out in the end, but the ends don't always justify the means.

      yes, Byrd had already had a walk off Grand Slam this year (he ain't no baby) so it was a big risk.
      But it worked so it was a good move, BUT if it hadn't?????????

          Statistically you are correct. Prior to that at bat Byrd was 4-8 with 1 HR and 3 RBI vs Wheeler

              Funny, I'd actually thought that was the opposite of chicken shit. It took some balls to walk a run in and bring the go ahead run to the plate.
