    July 12, 2008 WSOP Field Below 200 There are 189 left. Jeremy Joseph, with 2,187,000, holds a slim lead over Nikolay Losey's 2,110,000. James McMannus, author of the book Positively Fifth Street, is in the top ten with 1,761,000 and Mark Vos is close with 1,373. The biggest names still playing are Gus Hansen, Allen Cunningham, Jeff Madsen, and Phil Hellmuth.

      Wonder if McManus is planning a sequel?

      That book is a must-read.

          A guy I know, and used to play with, is still alive too. Doug Ashmore trying to hang in.

              I just checked 10 minutes ago and he had 440K. At this stage though, they start dropping like flies with the lower chip counts, as the blinds eat you up, and one mistake and it is over.

              I look at worldseriesofpoker.com for chip counts, and I hear that it is not terribly accurate or up to date either.

                          I know. He is not on there. But I just talked to my buddy who lives in LV and he told me he knew of at least three people who were not on the CP list who were still playing. The WSOP log is more in line with what is actually happening, it seems.

                          And my buddy knows Doug from his Houston days, and assures me he is still going.
