The three month break gives the mind time to heal, and it also gives you time to research the other 8 players on the table and maybe find a tendency they can capitalize on.

It's defintely different and a first, but we'll see if it helps with ratings or not.
I see your point and in fact don't think the momentum is a good thing either, even though it might have came out that way.

My problem is that is an endurance test as much as anything else, and everyone is at the same disadvantage of mental and physical stress. And while you are reading the other players and how they respond to such stress, taking mental notes to gain an edge, then everyone starts over frees, albeit with staggered chip counts.

Last year Jerry Yang came out firing on the final table, super aggressive bulling his way to a huge insurmountable lead. Who is to say that his mental acuity wasn't responsible?

Besides, this is the part of the sports/TV season that baseball is the only thing going, and even it is on break! When this resumes, it will be up against college BB, college FB, pro FB, NBA, et al.

It just makes no sense to me.

For the record, I am pulling for Tiffany Michelle. I would be at a huge disadvantage sitting across the table from her.

The final table will be televised live, but imagine the tension of knowing you are a millionaire, but having to try to stay out of harm's way and show up, and still have the momentum of when you were playing the best cards of your life...90 days ago.
          That's ridiculous

Why is she letting The Mouth paw at her?

I would imagine. She's no Kathy Liebert, if you catch my drift.

I wonder if everyone gets a check for $900,670 ( the 9th place award) to hold them over until Nov 9, or if they have to wait. I would be chomping at the bit.

Thanks. I am really curious about that.

I am also sure that one could draw a loan with the future paycheck as collateral, if needed.

The gap between winning it all ( $9,000,000) and being the first eliminated ( $900,000) is only a difference of 1 ZERO. No matter where any of the last 9 end up placing, the consolation prize for not winning is pretty nice.

                            Q:
Can you compile a list of all the celebrities that entered the Main Event of the WSOP this year and what place they finished in? Thanks.
                            A:
Las Vegas' gaming tables have always attracted celebrities, from the Wild West days when Wyatt Earp could be spotted hanging out at the Arizona Club downtown through the Rat Pack era that culminated in a Caesars Palace casino executive pulling a gun on Frank Sinatra over his casino-credit situation, and on to all the recent stories of unpaid markers from the likes of Charles Barkley and Pacman Jones. Bruce Willis is a well-known blackjack player (and bad toker) here, while James Woods loves video poker.
But it's the ongoing Texas hold 'em craze that elevated previously unheard-of players to the ranks of household names and swept through the celebrity ranks as much as it did the general population. Having won that coveted WSOP bracelet for triumphing in the 2005 Ladies-Only event, these days actress Jennifer Tilly, whose boyfriend is professional player Phil "the Unabomber" Laak, is probably better known for her association with the game of poker than she is for Seed of Chucky.

With a field of 6,844, there were too many players for every celebrity's finishing place to have been recorded in any source we checked, but here they are on a day-by-day basis, including details on the few who finished in the money:

                            Eliminated on Day 1:

                            Jason Alexander (actor)
Nick Cannon (rapper, actor, just married to Mariah Carey)
Jose Canseco (former Major League Baseball player)
                            Jeff Fenech (boxer)
                            Larry Flynt (publisher of Hustler)
                            Forrest Griffin (mixed martial artist)
Orel Hershiser (former Major League Baseball player)
                            Cheryl Hines (actress)

Sam Simon (TV producer and writer)
                            Jennifer Tilly (actress)

                            Eliminated on Day 2:

                            Paul Azinger (professional golfer)
Bruce Buffer (Ultimate Fighting Championship main ring announcer)
                            Shannon Elizabeth (actress)
Sully Erna (lead singer for hard rock group Godsmack)
                            Ray Romano (actor, comedian)

                            Eliminated on Day 3:

                            Eliminated on Day 4:

Kara Scott (TV personality, journalist) -- 104th place, $41,816

                            Eliminated on Day 6:

Tiffany Michelle (actress, TV host) -- 17th place, $334,534 prize
