Los Angeles Dodgers at Chicago Cubs [WGN | 2:20 PM ET]

Dodgers: Chad Billingsley has been on fire lately, winning four of his last five starts. In his previous 32 innings of work, Billingsley has allowed just eight runs. In four of those starts, Billingsley held opponents to an impressive one run or less. Billingsley split his first four road games on the road this season and his last four starts - and seven overall - have gone UNDER the total.

Dodgers are 12-3 in their last 15 Monday games.
Dodgers are 13-6 in the last 19 meetings at Chicago.
The OVER is 23-7-1 in LA's last 31 Monday games.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: 4

Cubs (-135): Ryan Dempster continues to impress for the Cubs, sporting a record of 5-2 to go along with a solid 2.70 ERA. The Cubs have enjoyed success with Dempster on the mound, winning seven of his 10 starts in 2008. Dempster is coming off his worst start of the season against Houston where he gave up four runs over six innings. Before that game, Dempster had only allowed a total of two runs in his previous two starts. The last four games Dempster has started have all gone UNDER the total.

Cubs are 19-7 in their last 26 home games.
Cubs are 7-3 in Dempster's last 10 starts.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: 5

Colorado Rockies at Philadelphia Phillies [7:05 PM ET]

Rockies: The Rockies haven't received much help from their starting rotation this season and Jorge De La Rosa sits atop the list of disappointments. In four starts, De La Rosa is 1-2 with a lofty 7.78 ERA. De La Rosa has one start on the road this season but was lit up by the Diamondbacks for four runs in four in 4.2 innings. Surprisingly, despite his ineffectiveness, the last two games De La Rosa started both went UNDER the total.

Rockies are 0-5 in their last 5 road games.
The UNDER is 8-2 in Colorado's last 10 road games.

            Key Injuries - NONE

PROJECTED SCORE: 5 (OVER - Total Play of the Day)

Phillies (-165, O/U 10.5): Jamie Moyer is pitching well of late, winning three of his last four starts. Take away one bad performance against San Francisco and Moyer has only given up five runs in his last 19.2 innings pitched. Surprisingly, Moyer has been much better on the road than he has at home, where the lefty is just 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in five starts. The last four games that Moyer has started have gone OVER the total.

Phillies are 7-3 in their last 10 home games vs. NL opponents.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: 8

Boston Red Sox at Seattle Mariners [NESN | 10:10 PM ET]

Red Sox: Bartolo Colon's MLB comeback continues Monday night against the Mariners. The Red Sox called up Colon on May 21 and he performed extremely well in his first outing of the year versus the Royals. In that game, Colon pitched five strong innings, giving up just two runs. Colon was 2-2 against Seattle in 2007 when he was with the Angels but pitched well in all but one of those games. Three of four of those contests went OVER the total.

Red Sox are 7-3 in their last 10 games overall.
Red Sox are 2-9 in the last 11 meetings at Seattle.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: 3

Mariners (-110, O/U 8.5): After starting the season strong, Felix Hernandez has really struggled over the last month of the season. The Mariners have lost four out of Hernandez' last five starts. Over that span, he's given up 19 runs in 29 innings pitched. Walks have also been a problem for Hernandez, as he's put 16 runners on in his last five starts. The under is gold when Hernandez takes the hill, cashing in nine of his 10 starts this year.

Mariners are 7-23 in their last 30 games overall.
Mariners are 13-6 in Hernandez's last 19 home starts.

            Key Injuries - NONE

PROJECTED SCORE: 5 (Side Play of the Day)

              SCOREBOARD

              Monday, May 26

Arizona at Atlanta (1:05 p.m. EDT). The Diamondbacks’ Brandon Webb (9-1) tries for a major league-best 10th win against the Braves and rookie Jair Jurrjens (5-3).

              STARS

              Sunday

              — Carlos Quentin, White Sox, led off the ninth inning with his second homer of the game to give Chicago a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

              — Adrian Gonzalez, Padres, hit a three-run homer with two outs in the 18th inning for a 12-9 win over Cincinnati.

              — Aaron Cook, Rockies, pitched a four-hitter in Colorado’s 4-1 victory over the New York Mets.

              — Luis Rivas, Pirates, hit a pair of solo homers in a 6-5, 11-inning victory over the Chicago Cubs.

              — Geoff Jenkins, Phillies, homered, drove in two runs and scored three more in a 15-6 rout of the Houston Astros.

              GRAND ENTRANCE

Jason Kubel hit a tiebreaking grand slam with two outs in the eighth inning on his 26th birthday to help Minnesota beat the Detroit Tigers 6-1. It was Kubel’s fourth career slam and second this season. … Eric Byrnes hit his first major league grand slam in Arizona’s 9-3 win at Atlanta. Byrnes was 15-for-67 (.224) with the bases loaded in his career before the homer. It was only the second grand slam allowed by Tom Glavine in his 22-year big league career.

              OOPS

The Indians’ Ben Francisco misplayed a simple single into a costly error in the 10th inning, enabling Jarrod Saltalamacchia to score from first base and give Texas a 2-1 win. The outfielder knelt down to play the ball safely, but it bounced between his legs and went all the way to the wall.

              OOPS, AGAIN

Elijah Dukes gave the Nationals a 7-6 victory over Milwaukee when he raced home from third on a wild pitch from Guillermo Mota, which bounced short of the plate and squirted toward first base. Making it more embarrassing, Dukes had reached on a walk from Mota.

              NOT SO UGGLA

Dan Uggla hit one of four homers by the Marlins in an 8-6 victory over the Giants in the opener of their doubleheader, then delivered the winning hit in the ninth inning of the second game. Uggla is the first Marlins player to hit 12 home runs in May, surpassing Gary Sheffield’s previous franchise-best, and has a hit in 18 of 22 games this month.

              STREAKING

The Yankees found the perfect salve for their early-season woes: the struggling Orioles and the slumping Mariners. New York beat Seattle 6-5 to run its winning streak to a season-best five games on Sunday, and at 25-25 are at .500 for the first time since May 10. And wouldn’t you know it? The Yankees get three more games with the Orioles starting Monday.

              SLUMPING

Seattle has lost six straight for the first time this season after a 6-5 loss to the Yankees, falling to an AL-worst 18-33. The Mariners were swept at Yankee Stadium for the second time this month. … Baltimore has lost five straight, their road woes continuing against Tampa Bay. The Orioles are 14-7 at Camden Yards but 10-18 away from home. … The Royals have lost a season-worst seven straight, after a pair of sweeps in Boston and Toronto.

              PLAYING EXTRA

The Marlins and Giants knew they’d be playing more than nine innings with a doubleheader, but a lot of other teams got into the act. The Reds and Padres went 18 innings before Adrian Gonzalez’s three-run homer gave San Diego a 12-9 win. The Pirates beat the Cubs in 11 innings, the Rangers needed 10 innings to beat Cleveland, and the Dodgers beat St. Louis 4-3 in 10 innings.

              SPEAKING

“What happens in the front office, there is nothing we can do about it. We just need to continue to come to the ballpark and play hard and try to win ballgames. Whatever happens, happens. We’re employees here. We just need to basically forget about this road trip, it was a horrible road trip for us.”— Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran on the fate of embattled manager Willie Randolph after New York lost for the sixth time in seven games.

              SEASONS

              May 26

1925—In Detroit’s 8-1 win over the Chicago White Sox, Ty Cobb became the first to collect 1,000 career extra-base hits. He finished his career with 1,139.

1929—Pinch-hitters Pat Crawford of the Giants and Les Bell of the Boston Braves hit grand slams in New York’s 15-9 victory.

1930—Joe Sewell of the Cleveland Indians, who fanned only three times in 353 at-bats during the season, was struck out twice in the same game by Pat Caraway of the White Sox.

1937—Billy Sullivan and Bruce Campbell appeared for the Cleveland Indians as pinch hitters. Each hit a home run, making this the first time two American League pinch hitters hit home runs in the same game. The Indians beat the Athletics, 8-6.

1956—Cincinnati Reds pitchers John Klippstein, Hershell Freeman and Joe Black combined for 9 2-3 hitless innings, but lost 2-1 in 11 innings to the Philadelphia Phillies.

1959—Harvey Haddix of Pittsburgh pitched 12 perfect innings before losing to Milwaukee 1-0 in the 13th on an error, a sacrifice and Joe Adcock’s double.

1962—Sandy Koufax struck out 16 Phillies to lead the Dodgers to a 6-3 victory.

1995—Southern California and Fresno State combined for an NCAA postseason baseball record of 39 runs in the Trojans’ 22-17 win in the West Regional. USC scored three runs in the top of the ninth to break the record of 37 set by the Trojans and Houston in 1990.

1996—The Chicago White Sox became the 16th team in AL history to hit four homers in one inning in their 12-1 win over Milwaukee. Frank Thomas, Harold Baines and Robin Ventura hit consecutive homers and Chad Kreuter added another in Chicago’s seven-run eighth.

1997—Chicago’s Sammy Sosa and the Pirates’ Tony Womack hit inside-the-park homers in the sixth inning of the Cubs’ 2-1 win. It was the first time two inside-the-park homers had been hit in the same inning in 20 years.

2004—Daryle Ward hit for the cycle and tied his career best with six RBIs in Pittsburgh’s 11-8 win over St. Louis.

              Today’s birthday: Ben Zobrist 27.

Boston Celtics at Detroit Pistons [ESPN | 8:30 PM ET]

Celtics: Boston had a dominating 34-24 scoring advantage inside in Game 3, and star Paul Pierce said that was the team's main objective after splitting the first two games at home. "When (Kevin Garnett) has the ball, especially in isolations, we want to get the ball to him and take advantage of opportunities," Pierce said. "That’s what we talked about at shoot-around (Saturday), helping out (Kendrick) Perkins and helping out (Rajon) Rondo and showing them things to do for these guys during the double-team. And Perk was able to duck in to get to the open spots, and so was Rondo. (They) took advantage of their opportunities.”

Road team is 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings.
Underdog is 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings.
The UNDER is 16-5 in Boston's last 21 Monday games.
The UNDER is 6-2 in Boston's last 8 conference finals games.

                  Key Injuries - NONE

                  PROJECTED SCORE: 85

Pistons (-6, O/U 175): Detroit is facing a big dilemma knowing that starting point guard Chauncey Billups is still hurting from an injured hamstring suffered in Game 3 of the team's second-round series vs. Orlando. Should Billups continue to play hurt, or should rookie Rodney Stuckey get more playing time since he is already averaging 13 points per game against the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals? Billups seems to have the answer. "At this juncture of the season, you can't sit out," Billups said. "I'm one of the main leaders of the team. We've got a young guy, Stuckey, who is playing great and we've got to find ways to keep him playing well. But I know I have to play good for us to win."

Pistons are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 home games.

                    Monday NBA Playoff Gameday

There are two playoff games on the schedule for Monday night, and they're both going to be played in Detroit. Here's a look at the Pistons and Wings in your playoff gameday:

Boston Celtics at Detroit Pistons, 8:30pm ET

The Pistons might have all the recent postseason experience, but they now find themselves down 2-1 to the Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston opened the series with an 88-79 win at home, but Detroit bounced back to knock off the Celtics 103-97 in Game 2 in Boston. Game 3 was played back in Detroit on Saturday night, with the Celtics looking to pick up their very first road victory of the playoffs. Boston roared out to a 50-32 lead at the break in that contest, and then cruised from there to the 94-80 win. Kevin Garnett led the way with 22 points and 13 rebounds for Boston on Saturday, while Ray Allen was good for 14 points. Paul Pierce had only 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting in the win. Richard Hamilton poured in 26 points in the loss for Detroit, Rodney Stuckey contributed 17 points off the bench, and Rasheed Wallace picked up 12 points.

Despite Boston's success on the road in Game 3 the oddsmakers still opened the Pistons as 5.5-point home favorites for Game 4. The contest's total was opened at 175.

                            Monday NHL Playoff Gameday

Pittsburgh Penguins at Detroit Red Wings, 8:00pm ET

The Penguins rolled through the Eastern Conference side of the NHL playoffs, but it looks like they'll find the going tougher against the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup final. Detroit got a pair of goals from Mikael Samuelsson on Saturday night as they rolled to a 4-0 win in the opening game of the championship series; Samuelsson had scored just two goals over the first three rounds of the playoffs. Dan Cleary and Henrik Zetterberg also scored for the Red Wings late in the third period to secure the victory. Detroit's stifling defense allowed netminder Chris Osgood to have a relaxing evening - he had to make just 19 saves for the shutout. Pens counterpart Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 32 of 36 shots in the loss. Detroit forward Johan Franzen sat out Game 1 with his head injury, while veterans Chris Chelios (Wings) and Gary Roberts (Penguins) were both scratches.

The oddsmakers like the Red Wings' chances of taking a 2-0 lead in this series, as they opened as -170 home favorites for Monday night. The total for the game opened at 5.5.

                              Boston at Detroit (-6, 175)

Maybe the Boston Celtics are finally hitting their stride after winning away from The Garden for the first time in the postseason on Saturday.

And they didn't just beat the Pistons in Detroit - they embarrassed them.

"We didn't come out and play. That's it, point blank," Pistons rookie point guard Rodney Stuckey told reporters. "We didn't give no effort at all at the start of the game, and you can't do that against a team like that."

Stuckey may see his role increase as the series moves forward with Chauncey Billups' right hamstring acting up again. Billups managed just six points in Game 3's loss.

                              Pick: Celtics
