Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers [ESPN | 8 PM ET]
Celtics: Boston point guard Rajon Rondo came of age in Game 5, totaling career highs of 20 points and 13 assists in his team's 96-89 victory. “He was definitely the X-factor out there,” Cleveland's LeBron James said. "20 and 13 with 1 turnover - that speaks for itself. Without Rondo tonight, it would have been a much tougher game for them. He was definitely the player of the game." Whether or not he can come close to that t type of performance at Cleveland though remains to be seen. Rondo has 14 points and 6 assists in both road games combined.
Celtics are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games.
Celtics are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
The UNDER is 15-6 in Boston's last 21 games vs. Central Division.
Key Injuries - NONE
PROJECTED SCORE: TBD
Cavs (-3, O/U 178.5): James had his most dominant game of the series so far in Game 5, although most of the damage was done in the first half. He scored 23 of his game-high 35 points in the first 2 quarters and was held to a basket in the third quarter before coming alive again in the fourth. "We start off well, but we go through a lapse on offense," James said. "Tonight it was the third quarter. They made us turn the ball over. They came down and scored, they got us on our heels, and we were down 12. You can't go down 12 on the road, especially in a place of this magnitude." James will likely need to carry the scoring load again with Daniel Gibson sidelined with a separated shoulder.
Cavs are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings.
The UNDER is 7-2 in Cleveland's last 9 games as a favorite.
The UNDER is 7-2 in Cleveland's last 9 games vs. Atlantic Division.
Key Injuries - G Daniel Gibson (10.4 ppg; separated shoulder) is OUT.
PROJECTED SCORE: TBD
Los Angeles Lakers at Utah Jazz [ESPN | 10:30 PM ET]
Lakers: LA went 17-1 during the regular season when all 5 starters scored in double figures and accomplished that feat for the first time in the postseason in Game 5. The Lakers will likely need that same kind of balance in Game 6 as Kobe Bryant continues to be bothered by a bad back. Bryant scored a series-low 26 points in Game 5 on a series-low 10 shots from the field but continued to get his teammates involved, dishing out 7 assists.
Lakers are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
The OVER is 10-4 in LA's last 14 Friday games.
Key Injuries - NONE
PROJECTED SCORE: TBD
Jazz (-4, O/U 213): Utah definitely feels like it has a major edge at the point guard position with Deron Williams against either Derek Fisher or Jordan Farmar. Williams totaled 27 points and 10 assists in Game 5 and played very well despite 4 turnovers. He enjoyed his best performance of the series in Game 4 at home with 29 points on 9-of-13 shooting and 14 assists, and he has made 21-of-22 free throws in the last 3 games combined. The ability of Williams to get Carlos Boozer involved could also ultimately determine whether or not there is a Game 7.
Jazz are 9-1 SU in the last 10 meetings at home in the playoffs.
Home team is 10-3-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings.
Jazz are 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings at Utah.
The OVER is 23-8 in Utah's last 31 games vs. Pacific Division.
Key Injuries - NONE
