Hot streak Hot stat of the day:

      On Berkman's current 14 game hit streak, he is 30-55 ( .545).
You can't always get what you want, but if you try some time, you might find, you get what you need.

                Update:

Big Brown cruises w/o challenge in Preakness, appears to be ready to make history in 3 weeks.

Berkman, 2-3, HR, RBI, run. Second player since 1956 to get 32 hits in 56 AB. S-I-Z-Z-L-I-N-G Also one of two have 7HR and 27 hits over 7 game period. WOW

                  Berkman now 36-66, for .545.

Only other player since 1956 to go 31-50 is Peter Edward Rose in 1979.

                      2008 Triple Crown Update:

Big Brown, a 2-5 favorite, is 2/3 of the way there, 1.5 miles from becoming the 12th horse to win the Triple Crown.

Lance Berkman, Houston Astros, is 2nd in BA, 3rd in HR and 3rd in RBI, with 4 months left in the season, trying to become the first Triple Crowner since 1937 in the NL ( Frankie Fritsch)

Josh Hamilton, Texas Rangers, is 4th in BA, 1st in HR, and runaway 1st in RBI (68!) with 4 months left, trying to become first AL Triple Crowner since Yaz in '67

How about this Triple Crown threat-----

                        Josh Hamilton----1st homeruns (17),1st RBI (68) leads by 15,4th batting avg (322) chasing 337.

I think he is making 368,000 this year.
