We will update when projected scores are available.

Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers [TNT | 8 PM ET]

Celtics: It's only a matter of time before Boston gets that first road victory in the playoffs, right? The Celtics have been the most dominant team in the postseason at home but haven't been able to earn a victory on the road despite going an NBA-best 31-10 away from TD Banknorth Garden during the regular season. “We can’t spot a team 15-20 points and try to dig ourselves out of it,” Boston forward Kevin Garnett Garnett said. “We talked about that in the locker room, that we need to play with the same urgency like we have at home. We can definitely play better, and we will.”

Underdog is 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings.
The UNDER is 15-5 in Boston's last 20 Monday games.

    Key Injuries - NONE

    PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Cavs (-2, O/U 182): Cleveland fans have to still be concerned about star LeBron James, who has yet to put together a good shooting game in the series. James is shooting 13-for-58 (22 percent) in the 3 games so far and has not scored more than 21 points. He scored less than 27 points just once in 6 games against Washington in the first round, but guard Delonte West doesn't believe it's a problem. “That’s why it’s a team game,” he said. “That’s why you have teammates you trust," West said. "Here in this locker room, he brings the attitude. He brings the attitude like we’re all in this together. And I think it’s good to have his back for a change since he has ours so many nights.”

Cavs are 5-2 SU & ATS in the last 7 meetings.
The UNDER is 16-5 in Cleveland's last 21 home games.
The UNDER is 6-2 in Cleveland's last 8 games as a favorite.

    Key Injuries - NONE

    PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

      Monday Playoff Gameday

Both the NBA and NHL playoffs continue on Monday night, with games scheduled for Cleveland and Dallas.

      NBA Gameday

Boston Celtics at Cleveland Cavaliers, 8:00pm ET

The Eastern Conference playoffs haven't been the cakewalk that was expected for the Celtics. After struggling to get past the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, Kevin Garnett and company are finding the going tough against the Cavaliers in Round 2 as well. Boston did manage to win the first two games of this series at home (by low scores of 76-72 and 89-73), but Cleveland then bounced back with a 108-84 victory on Saturday.

And the Cavaliers are still in this series despite the struggles of LeBron James, who was better on Saturday (21 points, eight assists, five rebounds), but still wasn't great (5-of-16 from the floor). Delonte West also tossed in 21 points for Cleveland on Saturday, while Joe Smith had 17 points. Wally Szczerbiak turned in a 16-point performance on the day.

Garnett led the way for the Celtics in their Game 3 defeat, but he was still only able to pour in 17 points (while grabbing nine rebounds). Paul Pierce added 14 points on the night, while Kendrick Perkins had 12 points, and Ray Allen was held to just 10 points. Boston was down 32-13 after the first quarter on Saturday, and they could not recover.

Cleveland will now be looking to tie up this second-round series at two apiece when they host Boston for the second straight game on Monday night. The early lines for this game had the Cavaliers listed as 1.5 to 2-point home favorites, while the total was hovering around 180 points. Check your favorite sportsbooks for the latest game lines.

            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
            Tips and Trends
            ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We will update when projected scores are available.

Boston Red Sox at Minnesota Twins [ESPN | 7:05 PM ET]

Red Sox (-140, O/U 9.5): The Red Sox haven't had much success with Clay Buchholz on the mound this season, losing 5 of his 7 starts. Buchholz has really struggled away from Fenway Park, going 0-2 on the road with an ERA of 7.40. Buchholz is coming off a poor performance against the Tigers on May 4th, giving up 5 runs and 10 hits in just 4 innings of work. Buchholz will take the mound versus the Twins on Monday for the first time in his career.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Twins: Livan Hernandez has been a pleasant surprise for the Twins in 2008. He's 5-1 with a 3.83 ERA and Minnesota has won 7 of Hernandez's 8 starts. The veteran has gone at least 7 innings 5 times this year and is coming off a complete-game gem in which he gave up just 1 run versus the White Sox. After a rough outing against Texas on April 27th, Hernandez has given up just 2 runs in his last 16 innings pitched.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

San Diego Padres at Chicago Cubs [8:05 PM ET]

Padres: After starting the season off strong, Randy Wolf has struggled of late. Wolf gave up just 7 runs in his first 4 starts but has allowed 12 in his last 3 outings, all Padres losses. Wolf is putting too many people on base recently, giving up 14 hits and 7 walks in his last 2 starts. Wolf has been involved in a lot of low-scoring games, with 6 of his 7 starts going UNDER the total.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Cubs (-200): Chicago ace Carlos Zambrano since is off to the hottest start of his career with a 5-1 mark and 1.80 ERA, and he has enjoyed a lot of success against the Padres. Zambrano is 4-1 lifetime vs. San Diego with a 1.94 ERA and a perfect 3-0 at Wrigley Field this season with a 1.59 ERA. He also got an extra day of rest after Sunday's game was delayed due to rain, forcing a scratched start.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers [8:05 PM ET]

Cardinals (-125, O/U 9): Adam Wainwright is one of the Cardinals best pitchers so far in 2008 thanks in large part to an impressive 2.25 ERA and 0.96 WHIP. Wainwright has faced the Brewers twice already this year, giving up just four runs in 14.2 innings of work. The Cardinals were victorious in both meetings. Wainwright has reached the seventh inning in all but one of his starts this year and the under has cashed all seven times he's taken the mound.

Cardinals are 10-5 in the last 15 meetings.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Brewers: Dave Bush has been a horror show for the Brewers this season but opposing batters are more than happy to see him take the hill. Bush is winless so far in 2008, while sporting a robust 6.98 ERA. Bush is just 1-4 against the Cardinals in his career with an ERA close to 7.00. Amazingly, despite all of Bush's struggles this year, 5 of his 6 starts have gone UNDER the total.

Brewers are 2-6 in their last 8 games overall.
The UNDER is 8-2 in Milwaukee's last 10 games as a favorite.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Chicago White Sox at LA Angels [10:05 PM ET]

White Sox (-115, O/U 9): Chicago's Mark Buehrle has clearly struggled this season, and it won't get any easier against the Angels. Buehrle is just 1-4 this year with a 5.31 ERA, and he will be facing an LA squad that just got swept at Tampa Bay. The really bad news is that Buehrle is only 1-4 lifetime against the Angels with a 4.48 ERA.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Angels: LA rookie Nick Adenhart will make his third career start back at home, hoping for better results than the first time around. Adenhart surrendered 5 runs on 3 hits and 5 walks in just 2 innings against Oakland at home back on May 1st in an eventual 15-8 loss. He walked 5 batters again in his second start at Kansas City, but the Angels were able to rally from a 3-0 deficit for a 5-3 victory.

            Key Injuries - NONE

            PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

              SCOREBOARD

              Monday, May 12

Toronto at Cleveland (7:05 p.m.) Indians left-hander Cliff Lee (6-0, 0.81 ERA) tries to win his seventh straight start to open the season. He struck out seven over seven innings in a 3-0 win over the New York Yankees on Wednesday. Shaun Marcum (4-2, 2.59 ERA) is scheduled to get the ball for Toronto.

              STARS

              Sunday

              — Brian Bannister, Royals, allowed two singles in eight innings to help Kansas City beat Baltimore 4-0 and end its 12-game skid against the Orioles.

              — Craig Monroe, Twins, homered twice as Minnesota held on to beat Boston 9-8.

              — Dan Uggla, Marlins, hit two home runs, including a go-ahead solo shot in the eighth inning of Florida’s 5-4 win over Washington.

              — Daryle Ward, Cubs, delivered a pinch-hit, two-run double in the eighth inning to lift Chicago Cubs over Arizona 6-4.

              — Ryan Braun, Brewers, homered twice to help Milwaukee beat St. Louis 5-3.

              — Steve Holm, Giants, hit a go-ahead, two-run drive in the seventh inning for his first major league home run, and San Francisco held on for a 4-3 victory over the Phillies.

              MILESTONE

Oakland’s Frank Thomas drove in two runs in the Athletics’ 12-6 win over the Rangers to give him 1,695 RBIs, tying him with Cal Ripken for 21st on the career list.

              WHO’S UP?

The Reds batted out of order in the ninth inning of their 8-3 loss to the New York Mets. Backup catcher David Ross came to the plate to lead off the inning and lined out. But the batter in the No. 8 spot should have been outfielder Corey Patterson, with Ross hitting ninth after an earlier double switch. Patterson was charged with the out, which officially counts as a putout by the catcher, and Ross came up again. This time, he singled.

              LET’S PLAY TWO

Postponed by rain, the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Indians are now scheduled to play the first traditional doubleheader at Progressive Field in more than 10 years on Monday. The Indians have played only four traditional doubleheaders at home since their ballpark opened in 1994 and none since Aug. 13, 1997, against Detroit. … The Braves and Pirates were postponed by rain and will play two Monday. Jair Jurrjens will start the first game for Atlanta against Zach Duke, and Pittsburgh’s John Van Benschoten will face Tim Hudson in the nightcap.

              HOMER 2X2

The Mets hit back-to-back home runs for the second straight day. On Saturday, Carlos Delgado and Brian Schneider hit New York’s first consecutive drives of the season. Carlos Beltran and Ryan Church went deep in the fifth inning of the Mets’ 8-3 win over the Reds on Sunday.

              ALL WET

Derek Jeter was set to bat cleanup for just the second time in his career, but the Yankees and Tigers were rained out. In 1,990 regular season and playoff games, the only time Jeter hit fourth was in a loss on the road against the New York Mets on July 10, 1999, when he went 0-for-4 with an intentional walk.

              OUT OF A JOB

The Brewers yanked Eric Gagne from the closer’s role after the reliever called his latest performance—a loss Saturday—embarrassing. Gagne (1-2, 6.89 ERA) has nine saves, but is tied with Cardinals reliever Jason Isringhausen for the major league lead with five blown opportunities. He flopped in his last two appearances.

              TURNAROUND?

The Padres beat Colorado 6-1 for their season high-tying second straight win and the series win. San Diego had lost eight consecutive series before taking two of three from the defending NL champion Rockies. The Padres hadn’t won a series since winning two of three on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 11-13.

              SWING

Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before the Astros broke through for seven hits and six runs in the eighth inning and pulled out an 8-5 victory. Kuroda was bidding to become the second Japanese-born pitcher to throw a no-hitter in the majors. Hideo Nomo had one for Los Angeles on Sept. 17, 1996, beating the Colorado Rockies 9-0 at Coors Field.

              STREAKING

The Marlins have won all six of their games at Nationals Park, which opened this season, and their seven-game win streak overall is their best run since winning nine straight in August 2006.

              SNAPPED

Brian Bannister allowed two singles in eight innings and the Royals beat Baltimore 4-0 to end a 12-game skid against the Orioles. It was Kansas City’s first victory over Baltimore since July 25, 2006. … Raul Ibanez hit a two-run homer to help Seattle end its five-game skid with a 6-3 win over the Chicago White Sox.

              SURGING

The surging Tampa Bay Rays beat the Angels 5-3 for a three-game series sweep and climbed five games over .500 for the first time in the club’s 11 seasons. It’s the latest they’ve ever been in second place in the AL East.

              SPEAKING

“I didn’t have any command of any pitch today. It’s one of those days where you know you don’t have anything, you just try to mix your pitches and they hit the ball on the ground. But they didn’t do that at all today. It was a souvenir. He did what he’s supposed to do.”—Rangers starter Sidney Ponson, who allowed six runs and seven hits in 5 1-3 innings of Texas’ 12-6 loss to Oakland.

                  Boston at Cleveland (-2, 182)

The Cavaliers made some good defensive adjustments before Game 3. Instead of trying to deal with all of Boston's weapons one-on-one, they started backing off on Rajon Rondo to focus their attention on Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, or Ray Allen. Rondo wasn't hitting the outside shots, so the Cavs just waited until he drove into the paint to step up on him.

Rondo ended up with only seven points on 3-of-10 shooting, so the move paid off. Now if LeBron James could just get his jumper to go down. James struggled with his mid-range shot for most of Game 3, but managed to get the rest of the Cavs involved in the offense and drove the lane hard all night.

He's going to break out sooner or later with a huge game. Maybe Monday will be his night.

                  Pick: Cavaliers

                    Detroit at Dallas (+100, 5)

The Detroit Red Wings have to be the most frustrating team to play against in the playoffs. Their puck-control offense, combined with an air-tight defense and more pure talent than they know what to do with is just the beginning of it. Detroit always has the puck and rarely allows teams to get anywhere near 30 shots. The Wings are experienced and deep too, so they always seem composed.

It's already getting to Dallas. The Stars head back home down 2-0, but started to come unraveled a bit when Mike Ribeiro and Detroit goalie Chris Osgood got into it in the final seconds of Game 2. It shouldn't amount to much, though Dallas needs some kind of spark or Marty Turco to steal this game to stay in the series.

It's hard to go against the Red Wings at this point, but if you're going to at all in this series, this might be the game.

                    Pick: Dallas
