If I was a Memphis player that game would haunt me for quite some time. Got to give it to Kansas. They gave it all they had and didn't fold. Free throws came back and haunted Memphis when they had to make them under pressure.Last edited by weazel079; 04-08-2008, 01:14 AM.MLB (2014): (3-4) -.9 units

Yep for them to be up 7 and lose---a huge game like this---but then again not many expected them to make the title game--who knows depends on the psyche of the individuals--for anyone to question--this crap---I mean come on--it is sport and players get scared---nervous---get their asses tight---it is tough in front of the nation---some can handle it some can not---KU did tonight and that is why they are NCAA champs!! Good job KU---if all of you played any type of sport in your life I am sure you know what I am talking about!!Originally posted by weazel079If I was a Memphis player that game would haunt me for quite some time. I think a lot of you are missing the point. Yeah, Memphis choked but they choked b/c of getting rattled after being up 60-51. Kansas gets a hoop, 60-53. Memphis makes a horrible play, second to G-town's gaffe vs. UNC in 1983. Kansas makes a three and in like 5 seconds it goes from 60-51 to 60-56. That is when Memphis shit the bed. Games like this haunt athletes all your lives. I still remember my last year of little league. Undefeated for two years, lost only 1 game the year b4 that. Lost the championship on a hanging curve when the catcher called for a fastball that no onecould hit. Kid hits it out, we lose. Last little league game, 25 years ago, remember it like yesterday. Tough blow for the Memphis program

You are exactly right, that was the turning point on the inbounds......as far as the FTs go the law of averages caught up with them as they were shooting lights out in this game and the previous with CDR and Rose......FTs didnt do them in totally....I thought it was the lack of aggression when they had a chance to go for the kill and did nothing but try and kil the clock when they had all momentum......they played not to lose and they lost anywaysOriginally posted by ironman95I think a lot of you are missing the point. You are exactly right MCP. They played not to lose and we all know how that goes. You could see them aiming free throws instead of just shooting them. If you're gonna miss, at least know you missed doing your best. Aiming a free throw at that level just isn't right. Shooting free throws is one of the most fundamental things in b-ball. Hell, they shoot jumpers just as well as ft's. They should have dribbled around in the foul line area and pulled up for a "j". They would increase their odds on making it!!Originally posted by MtrCtyPimpYou are exactly right, that was the turning point on the inbounds......as far as the FTs go the law of averages caught up with them as they were shooting lights out in this game and the previous with CDR and Rose......FTs didnt do them in totally....I thought it was the lack of aggression when they had a chance to go for the kill and did nothing but try and kil the clock when they had all momentum......they played not to lose and they lost anyways
