  • Celtics' win over Pacers nets 60th win, ties best turnaround in NBA History

BOSTON (AP) -- Kevin Garnett had 20 points and 11 rebounds, and the Boston Celtics tied the NBA record for the best single-season turnaround with a 92-77 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.

With the league's best record at 60-15, the Celtics have 36 more wins than last season when they finished at 24-58, the NBA's second worst mark. The only other team to improve by that much was the San Antonio Spurs, who went from 20-62 in 1996-97 to 56-26 the next season, Tim Duncan's first.

Boston has 7 more games to play and any Wins would add to the record turnaround.

It doesn't really matter what you "Think" Ronny. The best turnaround is the best turnaround. Nobody in the league is within 7 Wins of them and they far and away lead the league in margin of victory at an unheard of 10.5 ppg. (2nd is 7.1). Whether or not they win the Title is to be determined but to say they ain't shit is pretty comical. What they have done speaks for itself (So far). It is safe to assume that it is just the "Pistons fan" in you talking.

No doubt, but there is nothing wrong with enjoying the ride while the gas tank is still full!

It doesn't matter if they win or lose 3J. Three SB's and two WS Titles covered the next 30 years for me. Everything else is just icing on the cake and i'll enjoy all 3 teams while they are competing well and i'm here to see it!

I agree with YOUR thought process, but that is far from the thought process of this city. It is almost expected....

What has this team showed you that makes you think the Boston fans are in for a letdown? Just curious

I think Boston will be a very dangerous team in the playoffs and even if they get ousted in the first round (which will not happen) the Celts have had a great season.
Nothing is as far away as one minute ago.

They have been far superior in the Regular Season...but they wouldn't be the first 'best regular season team' not to win.

IMO, playoffs become a half court game. I think Cassell will help them, but I don't think they get by the Pistons. Rondo is going to be an excellent pro player, but I thnk he gets exploited in the playoffs.

the celtics have been very motivated to win meaningless regular season games. the playoffs will be a different animal, especially for alot of these guys. not saying whats gonna happen either way, but they have put in quite a bit more effort than other teams do during a loooong and meaningless regular season.

How many times have you all seen one of the Big 3 put up a "Moster" night with 40+ minutes and 40+ points in a blowout victory? I'm guessing not many. Their backups have played some good minutes and have played with great intensity, making some of these wins "easy" imo. The Big 3 are veterans and I think they are 3 of the hungriest sons of bitches in the NBA right now, and them losing focus and wittling down the stretch, I just don't see.

So Pierce, Allen and KG won't be motivated for the Playoffs after being motivated for the regular season? You are kidding right? April Fools??

There are 30 teams in this league and Boston doesn't have a single player in the top 34 of minutes played per game. They have not been killing themselves to get where they are at and they will have plenty of time to rest in the next week. I'm sure they will be ready.
