Went 0-2 last night dropping my NBA selection by a point (although it wasnt that close because I had the Lakers as a 7 point favorite and it went to OT where they won by 6) and just a bad baseball selection with the over in the Braves game.
I tend to play dogs and dogs only in baseball as far as sides go. Occasionally a small favorite, but I have figured out that with the amount of selections I play, I can profit significantly by going 30-40 games below .500 on the season. Not that I root for a below .500 record, just that laying juice in baseball on a consistent basis isnt how I have been successful. I will also play totals as I did last night and will today.
Here we go:
923/924 Chicago/Cleveland Over 8.5 -115 1 Unit
919 Toronto (Halladay) +142 1.5 Units
Anytime I can get Halladay at this value I am taking it, regardless of their opponent. He is one of the top pitchers in the game. That alone makes it a 1 Unit selection. Adding the half unit is that Wang had a terrible spring and also had less than impressive stats against the Jays last year posting an 6.35 era and was winless in his starts. In addition, Halladay has always pitched well at the Stadium, showing he likes the limelight. And no bigger regular season limelight than Opening Day of the final season at the House That Ruth Built.
Good luck everyone.
