  • Internet Help?

I have some pages on my browser that really havent been loading up all day such as cappers and vegas inside and maybe 1 other but the rest of them are loading up just fine...i have a adware and virus protector and that says nothing is abnormal and was just wondering if any techies would know what the problem is? Could it be a problem with my ISP? I hope it isnt my CPU and I even did a system restore to a couple of days when my system was fine and the problem persisted....should I just wait a day and see if its from my ISP or should I keep trying for a solution?

Any help appreciated...sorry mods I know this is the wrong forum but I just wanted as many as possible to see this and hopefully someone can help

BC has been loading up just fine all day

    PEACE

    MCP,

Try a few basic maintenance procedures:

    1) Disk cleanup

    2) Disk defragmenter

Both are found in: All Programs/Accersories/System tools

Try re-setting the box or cable/router hookups.

If that doesn't help clear out out your porn pics

First, get rid of Adware. Next download the free Starter Edition of PCTools Spyware Doctor. Consider investing the $25 in the Full Paid Version. It's worth it. It's the best!

Also, download Combofix to your destop.
              http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

              Run Combofix following all instructions.

Download Ccleaner. It's free. It's also one of the best cleaners available. After downloading and installing run the program and clean your system. Then click on the Registry icon and click on Scan for issues. After it scans your registry click on Fix selected issued. Don't worry about backing up the registry. I've used this program on 100s of computer without any incidents.

Forget using Windows Defrag. Download JK Defrag. It's free and much better

I highly doubt you have a problem with your CPU or there's problems with your ISP. It sounds Spyware related.

A system restore won't be helpful because in all likelihood the Restore Points contain the spyware infections.

What operating system are you using? XP or Vista?

One of the best unknown Windows XP utilities is System File Check or SFC. Windows XP has the ability to protect itself from system instability caused by 3rd party software overwriting important system files.

To run SFC simply go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

                    sfc /scannow

One caveat. Depending on your computer system and how XP was installed the user might need their Windows XP CD.

I don't know what cCleaner is but clearing out the cookies takes about 10 seconds. I would also delete your browsing history. Doing both should take care of the problem.

CCleaner is a comprehensive cleaner. It removes all unneeded, unused and temporary files from your system. It removes a wide array of crap from the computer. It does a more effective job than Windows Disk Cleaner. A PC user will be surprised how much unneeded temp files reside on their computer. CCleaner removed about 4g of temp files from a computer I recently repaired.

Cleaning cookies does take about 10 seconds. However, if a user is using Firefox along with IE it won't clean cookies from both programs. Ccleaner does.
