Sunday's List of 13: Wrapping up a college hoop Saturday

                              13) Syracuse shot 58.8% from floor, had 70-59 lead at home in game that could have put them back in position to get back on bubble, but they imploded down stretch and lost 82-77 to Pitt, a loss that likely sends them to the NIT.

                              12) Duke weaseled by NC State 87-86, snapping two-game skid on road; Blue Devils were 30-37 from foul line, 13-28 from arc in game they really should have lost. When Wolfpack get a point guard, they're going to be pretty good.

                              11) Sean Sutton has done terrific job reviving Oklahoma State team that is now 7-7 in Big 12 after winning fifth game in a row Saturday, beating a Nebraska team that had also been hot.

                              10) Halftime score: Oklahoma 28, Texas A&M 10. How does a top 25 team score ten points in a half? Mark Turgeon's team at Wichita fell apart late last year; now his Aggies are doing the same thing as postseason play apporoaches.

                              9) Marquette had 3-point led at home in last 0:10, but fouled a 3-point shooter, who made all three shots, and Hoyas went on for 70-68 OT win in Milwaukee, in one of day's better games. Marquette had been very hot coming in.

                              8) Tyrese Rice dropped 46 on North Carolina Saturday, as Tar Heels trailed at BC by as many as 18 points, before rallying to beat the Eagles by 10. Ty Lawson returned to play, but he is in obvious discomfort- no way could he guard Rice.

                              7) Texas Tech was 34-43 from foul line, Texas 9-13 in Raiders' 83-80 win over Longhorns. Game was in Lubbock, by the way.

                              6) Mississippi State won in Gainesville, dropping Gators to 8-6 in SEC, placing them squarely on bubble. Florida's didn't play a great non-conference schedule, so they're in jeopardy.

                              5) Stanford was down 11 at half at home vs Washington State, then realized that two 7-foot twins are on their team, so finally, they passed them the ball and Lopez twins dominated second half vs Coogs. Cardinal won 60-53- they're 13-3 in Pac-10.

                              4) Cornell is now 12-0 in Ivy League; they clinched first title in 20 years last night, pasting Harvard by 33. Randy Wittman's son is one of Cornell's best players.........Davidson finished its Southern Conferene schedule a perfect 20-0, hard to do. Now they might need three more wins in conference tournament just to get back into the NCAA's.

                              3) Cal-Irvine lists actor Jon Lovitz and diver Greg Louganis as its two most famous alumni. Anteaters looked good in beating first-place Northridge late Saturday night.

                              2) Game of day was Creighton's 111-110 double OT win vs the Bradley Braves, who are bolstered by return of PG Ruffin.

                              1) Gonzaga avenged earlier loss to St Mary's 88-76 in Spokane. Zags clinch top seed in WCC tourney if they win Monday at home against Santa Clara, who they beat in double overtime in first meeting. Broncos lost at lowly Portland Saturday.

                              ----------------------------------------------------------------------
