Im really starting to think the college game is rather dirty with all these numbers landing exactly between the line moves of sides and totals

wouldn't suprise me, especially with some of the teams/conferences you can bet on.

and there are PLENTY of games that don't come within 15-20 pts of the spread or total every night.

the reason that there are so many swings in basketball and that the numbers seem so close at times mostly relate to the game clock and shot clock. more so in the nba, as each team has to work w/ the 24 second clock. each team is forced into some kind of offense every 24 seconds to say the least. also, made shots are only worth 2-3 pts. easy to see big swings in these games w/ this sort of thing, and also lends itself to being close to the pt. spreads so often.

its not like football where teams can sit on a lead, run the clock out, out of bounds rules, etc etc. nfl teams aren't 'forced' into offense.

hope this helps and makes some sort of sense.

Chado this is a tough subject for me to accept as well and it doesnt help having a name and a face for fixed officiating in the NBA...But molta knows what hes talking about a lot of games ARE extremley close (the allstar game total pushing today was hillarious)
And this is due to the way the sport is constructed. There are very strong trends to what a team will do each night when it comes to field goal percentage, average time of posession, turnovers, free throw attempts, bench production, and just overall style of play. And just like any sport each of those numbers will fluxuate with every game
BUT the difference in basketball is that posession is GIVEN to you (after a made shot, turnover, rebound) and each posession can only last for a maximum 24 seconds or 35 for college......bottom line is basketball is tough to bet for a reason... and yeah tim donaughy also got caught officiating bad calls
Im not saying im a genius or anything but I like to copy and paste the schedule and guess the lines with predictions before I do any handicapping...and more times then not im within 5 points on the guessed total...defensive games will be in the 180s (sometimes those are the best games to take the over, assuming that if both defense are defensive oriented teams, they'll want to play up-tempo not to allow the other defense to get comfortable.) anyway I didnt mean to type so freakin much about this...by the way I saw most of that 1-0 dallas game today, and I don't watch much hockey but that was a grrreat game! the way that red wing goalie not named hasek or osgood stepped up was awesome. some big hits nice stops by turco as well....one thing I learned today....pavel datsyuk is fuckin dangerous with the puck....and...dont bet the nba all-star game individual quarters!!!
