Gold Sheet info/picks for week 4
***WASHINGTON 29-patsies 17. Bill bilichick losing one starter per week from his prized defens(t.johnson,R.colvin,T.washington) all of whom were key players in his versatile 3-4 2003 scheeme. Now he must quickly adjust to handle Steve Spurriers improved offense(24ppg) and rapidly developing QB Ramsey. (led clutch drives in 3 straight games). Another positive- Spurrier's former jets well familiar with billichick tactics.

        ***UNDER 45 points BALTIMORE 19 /Kansas City 16
Rampaging Raven RB Jamal Lewis will be primed again for a good showing against his former mentor and friend, Preist Holmes, who this week will have to deal with Ray Lewis. K.C's 03 fortified def. front faces its tougest test yet vs. Balt huge bookend tackles. Rookie QB boller mostly avoiding killer mistakes thus far. With top cover CB McAllister back after suspention, and with Billick staying conservative with boller, look under generous total.

        Philadelphia 20 BUFFALO 16
Philly tthe more desperate team here, and Buffalo (43 and 41 yrds last 2 games)has suddenly forgotten how to run the ball seemingly depending too much on Bledssoe. Meanwhile, proud McNabbeager to get back into action after being the lowest QB in the NFL after 2 games. Count on Reid to get him back on track afer McNabb has missed seeing open recievers. Rest has help Eagles banged up defenders.

        PITTSBURG 27 - Tennessee 20
PIT eager for some revenge after bitter OT playoff loss in Nashville last season. It was a big positive for stealers to get the bus out of the garage as Pit controlled the clock on cincy for 37 min. Tenn had 39 min of possesion, but that was N.O with its 5 starters out. Eddie George will find this task tougher. STEALERS HAVE COVERED LAST 5 OF 6 MEETINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        CLEVELAND 20 Cincy 17
Clev LB are in period of transition while DL continues to underachieve. Cleave. entered season with least experienced roster in the NFL. Clev Def which gave up 295 yds rushing to Jamal Lewis 2 weeks ago might have to face previous holder Corey Dillon. Cincy still making Key mistakes, but WR have good ability. Browns love to play em close (last 15 of 20 games decided by 8 points or fewer)

        San Fran 24- MINNESOTA 22
Min is improved, but ? is still its secondary, big problem vs. 9ers talented WR. Vikes will try to pound the ball with their big OL. 9ers insiders say that dennis erickson is intent on exploiting his teams defensive quickness by blitzing virtually every down, a tactic that help neutralize marshal faulk a few weeks ago. As long as Garcia's back is ok(he has no complaints) he buys enough time to keep vikes on edge

        CAROLINA 26 - Atlanta 13
If ever a team was in the mood for payback, surely it is improved carolina which was whipped by a combined score in LY meetings 71-0. This year there is no Vick around to defuse the furious Pantha pass rush. John Fox is also racking points from opponents for clever double team blocking in a powerfull, but vaanilla ofense. Stephen Davis 253 yds in smashing 1st 2 games. ATL QB D. Johnson 5 ints. last 2 games.

        ST. LOUIS 31- Arizona 1
Must ride with rams despite Faulk's hand Fx. With marshall out, contest no so much of an offensive mismatch especially with blake & Co comming off a big game vs GB. Still rams WR are use to trip to Hawaii and Ariz. def has been plaint with only 1 sack and 2 takeaways this year. Ariz 1-5 last 6 tries as RD

        HOUSTON 23- Jax 20
It will be interesting to see if the injured Jaxcan carry # vs. Houston team that played them tough in 2002( 1-1, 2-0 vs spread) Jax lacks speed @ wr with Jimmy Smith still out while houstons Andre Johnson has 18 rec in first 3 games of carreer. Texas power runner Mack a former Jaguar.

        OAKLAND 23 - San Diego 17

David Boston Suspended. Jerry Porter OUT. Winning team has only one series win by more than 10 points in last 13 meetings as host. SD rolled up 389 yds vs ray lewis & Co last week. Despite its problems, S.D often at its best vs. its most hated rival

***Dallas 23 - NY Jets 16. Cowboys certainly used to this trip, having won thier last game on the same field 2 weeks ago. Few coaches brindle thier optimism over a win more than Bill Parcells. But even he has conceded his players made some big strides in that come from behind win in MNF. QB carter made more good decisions better plays and fewer mistakes. DAL recievers and ST were poised. With pennington out and curtis martin only 133 yds to date. and with the jetskins in D.C, N.Y offense not too scary.

Texas Tech and Miss. ended up 49-45 and nowhere near 18-14 as predicted by Harmon. As a gambler, I never follow their guesses.
NSA's NBA Game Of The Year was on Dallas -4.5 on March 31. Orlando won 108-99. It was a cloudy day for Sonny LaFouchi.
