    College Basketball - Dunkel Index

    NCAAB
    Dunkel Index

    Cincinnati at NC State
Rick Pitino was able to get his 500th career win, but that was about the only highlight for the Cardinals lately. Louisville has struggled to overcome injuries, losing two straight in early December to Dayton and Purdue, and winning its last two by relatively close margins against Marshall (85-75) and New Mexico State (70-65). That's not even close to the expectations that were set for Louisville at the beginning of the season. But the Cardinals have a good shot at getting back on track tonight against at Morehead State team that lost by 32 to Oklahoma (74-42) in its only contest against a major conference team this year. Louisville is the pick to cover (-23) according to Dunkel, which has the Cardinals favored by 27. Dunkel Pick: Louisville (-23). Here are all of today's games.

    WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 26

Game 523-524: Morehead State at Louisville
Dunkel Ratings: Morehead State 43.340; Louisville 70.250
    Dunkel Line: Louisville by 27
    Vegas Line: Louisville by 23
    Dunkel Pick: Louisville (-23)

                ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Miami Heat at Philadelphia 76ers (NBATV | 6 PM ET)

Miami has not beaten an Eastern Conference opponent this month, going 0-6 following a 96-82 loss at Cleveland on Tuesday. "As soon as things go badly, instead of just buckling down, and everybody stepping up, there is a frustration switch that goes on," Heat head coach Pat Riley said. EDGE: 76ERS
Philadelphia has lost 2 straight at home and is just 6-9 at the Wachovia Center this season. However, the 76ers won 3 of 4 against the Heat last season, including both meetings at home. SLIGHT EDGE: 76ERS
Heat are 1-6 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Philadelphia.
76ers are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 home games.
The OVER is 6-0 in Philadelphia's last 6 home games.

Detroit Pistons at New Jersey Nets (7:30 PM ET)

Detroit has won 12 of 14 and will be going for a season-high 6th straight win. The Pistons have held their last 12 opponents below 50 percent shooting, limiting their last 6 to 87 points or less. BIG EDGE: PISTONS
The Pistons went 4-0 vs. New Jersey last season thanks to the play of point guard Chauncey Billups, who averaged 20.8 points and 9 assists against Jason Kidd. EDGE: PISTONS
Pistons are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games overall. (Bet Detroit -5.5 at BetUS - the best line available at last check!)
Nets are 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 home games.
The UNDER is 6-0 in Detroit's last 6 games.
The UNDER is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings in New Jersey.

Chicago Bulls at San Antonio Spurs (WGN | 8:30 PM ET)

Chicago assistant coach Pete Myers will lead the team against the Spurs after Scott Skiles was fired as head coach on Monday. The Bulls are shooting an NBA-low 41.3 percent from the field and averaging just 92 points per game. "I felt like something was going to happen," Chicago forward Luol Deng said. "I didn't know whether it was players or coaches. But you could definitely feel there was something. It just didn't seem like we were on the same page." EDGE: SPURS
It's unknown whether or not super sub Manu Ginobili (19.2 points per game) will play for the Spurs after spraining his left index finger on Saturday. "His hand's been bothering him for a long time," San Antonio head coach Gregg Popovich said. "The X-rays are all negative, but the ligaments are in bad shape. It's like a sprained thumb, sort of. You keep hitting it and hitting it and it never gets healed - he's back to square one." Tony Parker and Tim Duncan are also recovering from ankle injuries. EDGE: BULLS
