Sorry to hear it Bryce. I'm in the same boat, actually lost my mom to cancer back in April. Fought a nearly 2 year battle. Really love the job ESPN does with the V Foundation. The speech is timeless and really moving.

Wow, I am glad that speech was on, it gives me great perspective in a time when life has throws several curveballs at me. I feel invigorated, and I taped it. Greatest speech ever! A brilliant speaker, he will be missed.

Go to his website guys, buy the speach on dvd. You can watch it whenever you want, and you can help the cause!!! Everytime I think I have problems, or life sucks, I watch the dvd. It kicks me in the ass and reminds me of what is important in life.

If the term "Hero" can be used as a way of expressing how Valvano inspired the people who knew him, played for him, against him, or just watched his pure love of life, family and the game which he didcated his life to. Then this is in my opinion what a hero in this defination is. To wish your kids could aspire to be this kind of person is a dream come true to most parents. Now on withthe game!
