      A tidbit on tonight:

The outright winner is 20-0-1 ATS when the Seahawks play on Monday Night Football! While Seattle is disappointed by their loss in Cleveland last weekend, their backers should know they’re 8-2 ATS on MNF when entering off a SU loss. BUT The 49ers are a very profitable 13-3 ATS on Monday Night Football, and an even better 10-3 against division rivals when shown on the national telecast.

Makes sense. With 3 out on Seattles defense anything can happen.

This might indicate a play at half time.

*Matt Hasselbeck ranks 10th in the NFL with 2,023 passing yards this season.

              49ers' Game Plan

              • Attack the blitz. The Seahawks successfully pressured the 49ers in their initial meeting by using five and six-man pressures. The 49ers must be ready for the pressure and attack it by hitting their receivers on quick slants and fades before the rush arrives. Look for more three-step routes to counter the Seahawks' blitz-heavy game plan.

              • Lock 'em up. Walt Harris and Nate Clements haven't played up to expectations, but have the talent to smother the 49ers' receivers. With the Seahawks relying on the pass, the 49ers' duo must step up and handle D.J. Hackett, Bobby Engram and Nate Burleson in man coverage.

              Seahawks' Game Plan
              • Put the game in Hasselbeck's hands. The Seahawks' inability to run the ball consistently and Shaun Alexander's injuries will force Mike Holmgren to put the game in Matt Hasselbeck's hands. Look for the Seahawks to ignore the run and come out throwing against the 49ers' vulnerable defense.

              • Turn up the heat. The Seahawks successfully pressured and harassed the 49ers' quarterbacks in the first meeting by relentlessly blitzing off the edges with Julian Peterson and Darryl Tapp. Don't expect that game plan to change with San Francisco's offense surrendering almost four sacks a game.

I live in Seattle and the weather seems to be getting better. As of 2:30 PM PST, it appears as if the sun is trying to come out. Also, earlier this morning, the weather service reported winds approaching 40 mph....the winds have died down dramatically though.

Very confusing tonight, I agree but thanks for the statistical analysis. That should prove to be pretty handy in many games, not just tonight.

When I am confused about a MNF game I revert back to one system. A system that consistently produces 70+% winners year after year and has produced 6 wins this year based on my feelings of who would win each game SU and last year it produced 12 for me. Its only good for Monday Night which will become obvious after you think about its simplicity.

The team you think will win outright wins ATS. Yep, thats it.

And on a side note, Holmgren is a strong MNFer with both of last years games won by double digits, one in a blizzard I may add. In 2005 they had just one appearance, a 42-0 victory. Holmgren is 11-8 SU on Monday night, 4-3 with Seattle. Also 9-4 vs the 49ers as both Green Bay and Seattle's coach. And also Seattle is 4-3 SU on Monday and in support of my trend, 4-3 ATS since 1996. Again, they win, they cover. In fact, 16 of the 32 NFL teams have identical SU and ATS Monday records and of the remaining 16 teams 11 of them have a SU and ATS record differing by just one win. All of this information is since 1996.

                          BOL all.

But SF has only played one game on MN in the last 4 seasons and it was this year. So that 10-3 stat goes back to a much better group. Perennial winners, actually. Although, they did win SU and ATS earlier this year.
