Well at least I know the CFL treats me very well. LOVE this game tonight guys and I will explain why. Here are the CFL standings with each team having only 2 games left:
EASTERN Team GP W L T PTS
Winnipeg 16 9 6 1 19
Toronto 16 9 7 0 18
Montreal 16 7 9 0 14
Hamilton 16 2 14 0 4
WESTERN Team GP W L T PTS
B.C. 16 12 3 1 25
Saskatchewan 16 11 5 0 22
Calgary 16 7 8 1 15
Edmonton 16 5 10 1 11
I explained about this last week and I will explain it again. We can break things down like this. In the West, B.C. just needs to beat the 2-14 Tiger-Cats as 13 pt favorites tomorrow night (which they will) and they have clinched 1st place no matter what in the West. This means that Saskatchewan also will know they have 2nd place locked up and that is also said and done after B.C.'s win. So with this being said B.C. gets a first round bye and Saskatchewan will host Calgary in the West semi regardless. The only thing that can change is in the East. Winnipeg plays in Toronto on Saturday afternoon in a battle for 1st and 2nd (neither Montreal nor Edmonton can catch either of them). BUT and the BUT here is if Edmonton can win both of their final games and Montreal loses both of theirs than Edmonton can make the playoffs as their is a "cross-over" in CFL with regards to points. I know this can be very confusing so you guys may want to read what I just typed again. This is going to be a "meaningless" game for Saskatchewan while Edmonton needs 2 wins in their final 2 games to make the playoffs and leap over Montreal in the East. Montreal has lost their star QB Anthony Calvillo for the rest of the season and are also 9 point underdogs @ Calgary on Saturday night. So pretty much what I am getting at is if Edmonton can beat Saskatchewan @ home tomorrow night (as its a meaningless game for Saskatchewan and wouldnt be surprised if they will be resting their players) and Montreal loses to Calgary (as 9 pointt underdogs) than Edmonton is still VERY alive with both teams having one game remaining next weekend. Edmonton knows they have a great chance at making the playoffs cause if they beat Saskatchewan than they play the worst team in the CFL in the Hamilton Ti-Cats in their final game while Montreal has to go on the road and play Winnipeg who is no push over as they will still be fighting for 1st in the East. Make sense? To me it does and feel free to ask me any questions but I am going big here on Edmonton as Saskatchewan will have NOTHING to play for and the Esks have EVERYTHING to play for!!!
244 Edmonton Eskimos +4.0 (-110) (3 units )
244 Edmonton Eskimos MONEYLINE (+165) (1 unit )
B.C. @ HAMILTON - STARTS @ 6:30 PM EST
SASKATCHEWAN @ EDMONTON - STARTS @ 9:30 PM EST
Get on this ASAP as line may shift to a pick em and maybe even have the Esks favored by gametime after B.C. wins. The line was @ 5.0 earlier in the week and has already went down a full point. The reason why the Esks are still underdogs is because B.C. hasnt won yet but I have no worries that the best team in the CFL can beat the worst team in the CFL as 13 point favorites knowing they can clinch 1st place with a win and end Saskatchewan's chances at catching them.
PS - Will post NHL selection(s) in the morning....
AS ALWAYS, GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!
