Actually, not to be picky, but only one of the BC wins was in Blacksburg and that was back in 1995. BC's other Thurs night win was at BC last year in the 22-3 beating. Tech is actually 3-2 vs BC on Thursdays all time and won in Blacksburg 30-10 2 years ago. Here's a breakdown of Tech on Thursday night. They've been in 14 total Thursday night games all time:

    Year Opponent Score
    2006 @BC 3-22(L)
    vs Clem. 24-7(W)
    2005 @MD 28-9(W)
    vs BC 30-10(W)
    2004 @GT 34-20(W)
    vs MD 55-6(W)
    2003 vs TexA&M 35-19(W)
    2002 vs Marsh. 47-21(W)
    @BC 28-23(W)
    2001 No Thurs Night Games
    2000 @ECU 45-28(W)
    1999 vs Clem 31-11(W)
    1998 @BC 17-0(W)
    1997 No Thurs Night Games
    1996 No Thurs Night Games
    1995 vs BC 14-20(L)
    1994 vs WVU 34-6 (W)

All time record on Thurs night: 12-2. Avg Margin of victory: 19.8. The 2 losses are to BC but split between home and away. The last at home in 1995...Tech is also 9-4 overall vs. BC since 1993.

Maybe true when they had Mike Vick and such but i heard that they don't even know who the starting QB is going to be yet. That could be a problem.

I believe you. Regardless, I think it'll be a great game. Very impressed by Matt Ryan and have been since last season. He's a smart, tough and very talented QB. Good surrounding cast too. That said, undoubtedly this is the toughest test of his career!

It looks like it will be Taylor but I wouldn't be surprised if Glennon gets snaps too. The latest update from their trainer on the Hokie Sports blog was Sunday:

"We thought Tyrod was progressing quicker than expected, so we actually went ahead and took the cast off on Thursday. He's been jogging in the underwater treadmill and is progressing very quickly through his rehab to the point we felt we like we could put him out here in blue (limited work). He has a little bit of a soft cast on today around the brace for added stability, which is limiting his mobility, but it's strictly precautionary and he would not have to play in that. I'm cautiously optimistic about his chances of playing Thursday. I think he's doing great."

BC run defense is very tough and with the tech offense nothing to brag about and their qb situation up in the air I like Matt Ryan and the eagles 20-10

BC couldnt put away the Irish....this is their first real road game....It is a lot easier for Ryan to throw TD's v NC State and UMass......Beamer Ball, Thurs night in Blacksburg, they finally have some sort of O going. 23-10 Hokies

That’s right. Like boxing , everyone wants to be undefeated, this game doesn’t work like that!

They won at then #15 and now unranked GTech.....Are you telling me there is any comparison to a Thursday night game in Blacksburg to a game in September against an over ranked GTech squad? Esp. when 90% of the city is wrapped up in Braves/Vick scandal. No one in ATL cares about GTech football, .....In Blacksburg this is all that matters to the city and the team.

ALSO, did you see the Irish game? They couldn't put them away at ND in front of a piss poor Irish crowd. Irish had it to a 1 game at 1 point.

Thinking a Sept game at GT = a Thurs night game in late OCT @ Vtech is RIDICULOUS.

Well when they met Ga. Tech is all that matters. Nobody could have predicted the future at the time. Yes, i did see the N.D. game where they were favored by -13.5 and won by 13. Were they supposed to win by 40? I don't get it. LSU squeaked by a bad Tulane team when they were favored by 40. Does that mean they are horrible because of it?

Ohio St looked awful @ Home against Michigan St and didn't come close to covering. Should we drop them from #1 like 10 or 15 now?
