I think the truth lies somewhere between what Tony says and what Griswold says.
Frankly, before trhe season started, I thought it would be a mediocre year.
I thought and continue to think that there are too many weak links in the lineup even when everyone is healthy, and that even if players were not injured, that they were somewhat overachievers.
Pitching(esp. Beckett) and guys like Lowell and Pedroia are the main reasons they have done as well as they have.
The post season is a crapshoot as we saw last year when a mediocre team like the Cardinals just got hot at the right time;the Cards record this year speaks for itself.
Personally with all of the ups and downs of the Yankees this year and all of the talk at one time they were finished(including me), I think right now(and it hurts me to say it) Yankees should be rated the odds on favorite to win it all(yeah I know they have the Angels to worry about, but that is the way I see it).

I am not impartial because of my anger and i realize it.....However, i would not want to face the Yanks at all....and to me they should be the odds on favorite.....If there was any justice in this world it would be the Red Sox and the Cubs with the Cubs leading us 3-0 just to implode again and lose 4-3....

Frank this is very true....I remember watching Fox pan the stands at the 04 series between the sox and yanks and the yankee fans were jumping and cheering and the sox fans were chewing their hats and just overall expecting defeat......

Also our team (like i have said) makes excuses for losses in advance.....whereas the Yanks never say shit....they just win...someone else picks up the baton...

I just believe if you listen to Boston Sports Radio it is echoing about how the WC is okay

and the Fan in New York as well as Yanks fans expect pennants....

Varitek HR'd last night after his patented whiff with the bases loaded.....

I will take it.....but i was talking to a catcher out last night and he was a minor league catcher and said in August everything hurt......so i contend that Varitek still should have been dropped down until he got his stroke back......and Drew....he has quietly had a pretty good 3 weeks.....but if it were me......Ellsbery is my Right Fielder......when Manny comes back.....he is a game changer......you can play station to station baseball with him.....and he is a rally starter
