A Rod is one hell of a player....On a great pace, (age wise---ahead of Bonds and AAron) to become one of the greatest....(stat wise ever)..........I don't see the Yanks letting him Go.....He is the Yankees right now.....IMO

If Ken Griffey Jr wasn't hurt for most of his time with the Reds he would be closer. He still can break the record if he plays longer.

But... ARod will diffenitly break it if he stays healthy.

PLUS JR doesn't look like he ever took steriods.
      Good Luck to everyone
      Adam

Richie: [after Gus hits a homerun] Wow and he did it without steroids.
      Clark: What's steroids?
Richie: Something that makes your pee-pee smaller.
Clark: There must be steroids in macaroni!

The good news turned bad with Arod announcing today he won't have contract talks until after the season.

Unless the Yanks throw a boat load of money at Arod making it extremely difficult for the other teams to match Arod won't return to the Yanks next season.

I think the Yankees may have seen this post as it was right about this time they turned their season around.

Savage, eady to concede that they are very much alive?

Lets say he goes 300, 50HR 150 R and 150 RBI and then flames out in a first round exit?

Do you still want him at any cost?

Yanks have gone down hill since they signed Giambi and Mussina......they havent gone much down but from winning 4 titles in 5 years to winning none in 6 is a drop considering they won the division every one of those years.

Again the original question though is do you still want him at any cost if he flames out during a first round exit?

SF kept Bonds because they needed him to sell tickets during his record chase........on the flip side the Yanks do not need ARod to sell tickets.

If they win the title and he carries his weight then I think he stays.......if they dont win and he carries his weight I think its 50/50.......if they dont win and they crucify him for flaming out I say he packs his bags the day after they are eliminated

                    JMO

                    PEACE
