I got both of them. And I think both will be good. Just don't know if Gallardo will be good tonight. I hope so though. You can't strikeout 110 batters in 77 innings in a hitters AAA league and not be good. I've seen plenty of 21 year old pitchers make their season debut, and like I said, it's a crap shoot. They can over throw, meltdown and walk a bunch a batters. There's a big difference between AAA and the majors. Hope he does well for you Brewer backers.

I think being at home will help and i think facing a weak lineup will too. He is a strikeout pitcher and with these guys being new to him, i expect him to fool alot of them.Originally posted by BigWeinerI got both of them. And I think both will be good. I'd probably put Gallardo behind Hughes and Lincecum as young pitching prospects go, but ahead of all the others.
Other heralded rookie debuts this year:
NYY Phil Hughes vs. Tor - 4.1 IP, 4 ER, NYY lost 6-0 as a -160 favorite
Min Kevin Slowey @Oak - 6 IP, 1 ER, Min won 3-2 as a 105 dog
TB Andy Sonnanstine @Tor - 7 IP, 6 ER, TB lost 12-11 as a +210 dog
I think the key is the bullpen since these guys rarely last more than 80-90 pitches in their first start. Since Milwaukee's relievers have a respectable 3.73 ERA, that's good news for Brewers backers.
