3 of his last 3 he lost were to the top pound for pound guys,......hopkins,floyd. & sugar shane...nothing to be ashamed of....

he never lost to a marginal fighter....all losses to great not good fighters and he actually beat trinidad....

          Shane - 2 L's
          Hopkins - 1 L
          Floyd - 1 L
          Trinidad - 1L

          not too bad

IMO it doesn't matter. In his day, he was the one beating all challengers. Now, he keeps coming up short. He is not helping his record/Legacy any losing these fights. A loss is a loss (imo).

In his day??? In boxing to carve out a legacy as being the best of an era you must fight the best and he has....

He lost a split decision to pfp #1 FM
pFP #2 Bernard who was pfp #1 at the time
lost a split decision to Shane who was a PFP #1 fighter..

He destroyed mayorga.....recently who was supposed to be the best....

IMHO he is still a great fighter.....it is not like he lost to a gatti who is a B fighter....He beat europes best in sturm who was tough as hell.....

It would be like losing to Pats 31-29 2 years in a row and saying you are washed up.....

He is not aging....has not lost speed....or stamina.....just fought better guys....

Like i've said SEVERAL Times tony, In My Opinion, he should have retired 6 fights ago. Personally, i used to love Oscar and i thought he was one of the greatest. Now, after his last few fights ... Not so much. As they say in sports, go out on top ... and he certainly isn't doing that.

                • He has won 2 fights since 2003. It's time to move on or just fight cupcakes to pad your record Oscar!

this is my opinion that he wasn't done and it was time to fight those guys......I still think he is one of the greatest...How many titles?? also he has moved from class to class.....

Each of these fights were superbowls and to be 3-3 against that level is respectable.....I do not agree with going out with gas left in the tank....Who actually goes out on top and leaves a 25 million dollar payday on the table??

That is not the point i realize, but as a -200 underdog he did better than most thought....was also a huge underdog to Hopkins and about a pick em to shane....

Shane has always had his number and in boxing styles make fights and that is one that works to shane....just as vernon forrest always beats shane.....

In my mind he is not tarnished what so ever.....He fought the best....and lost split decisions.....

Not 1 of those fights did you hear anyone saying, "wow he has lost alot"...."or he is overmatched"......So to lose to the best in this sport the way he did is not as simple as w's and l's.......

If he were Ko'd or Unanimous decisioned i would agree.....but he is still Oscar

He has only fought twice in 3 years so that stat is a little slanted.....and he has been promoting

He is (2-3) in his last 5 fights. I don't care what the names are on the other side, 2-3 is 2-3 and that is anything BUT Greatness!
