                              SATURDAY, APRIL 7

                              Golden State at San Antonio
The Warriors are continuing their push to catch the Clippers in the West for the final playoff spot and trail L.A. by a game heading into tonight's action. San Antonio is a tough draw for Don Nelson's team as the Warriors have lost 19 straight at AT&T Center. But the Warriors have shown plenty of toughness lately as they are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games, including a 5-0 mark ATS on the road, which included stops against playoff-bound Houston, Utah and the Lakers. While the Spurs should prevail straight up, the Vegas line favoring San Antonio by 11 looks too high according to Dunkel, which has the Spurs favored by just 6 1/2. Dunkel Pick: Golden State (+11). Here are all of today's games.

-- Long Beach State, which loses whole team to graduation, hired former Gonzaga, Minnesota coach Dan Monson to be its coach. Still not sure why they fired Larry Reynolds, who produced exciting, winning teams the last two years.

-- Rick Pitino hired someone he knows to replace departed assistant Kevin Willard (Iona); he hired Richard Pitino Jr., who had been an assistant coach at Duquesne.

-- We were right couple weeks back about Santa Clara's hiring Kerry Keating, former UCLA assistant; it was logical that they had had waited so long, because they were going to hire an assistant who was still coaching.

-- Which job has better shot at being successful in Big 12 , Kansas State or Texas A&M? I am guessing A&M, since Texas is usually loaded with prime recruits.

-- Looks like Kansas State maintained their returning roster by hiring Frank Martin as coach, but is he a good enough coach to make a go of it in the Big 12?

-- Martin was a high school coach in Florida for 15 years, but was hired as a recruiter; now he has to match wits with Knight, Bzdelik, Sutton, as well as recruiting juggernauts at Kansas and Texas. I'm not saying he isn't good enough, but it seems like a longshot that he would be.
