The MAC would be a good place to fix a game. Most of these players aren't going pro and it might not cost as much to get one to affect the outcome. In a major conference, players with pro potential might not be as willing and would need a lot more $ to pull it off.

With all due respect to some of the guys here who think it is an isolated incident.....I think it happens more than we would care to admit. Maybe not rampant...but it does happen at least a few times a season IMO..to be quite honest my only gripe is that I'm not in on the fix!!!
      $100/unit

      They are all booger eaters!!!

we hear about this once every 3 or 4 years at some of the small schools that dont get on TV......I know it happens, is happening and will happen again but its not nearly at the point of being a problem

what this does though is give every tom dick and harry reason to cry fix anytime they see something that doesnt look right......if you people really think these games are fixed and you still bet on them then you are the true sucker

IMO 99.9998 % of all games are legit.......once every half million games or events there might be some funny business though but definitely not enough to cause me to lose sleep

        PEACE

I don't think it is rampant.
On the other hand, we live in a money hungry/conscious society, and there are people, some of whom are already well off, take chances for stakes a lot less than they could get for trying to fix a game.
Case in point-how do you explain why someone who is financially quite comfortable would try to shoplift something worth less than $100?
I can't put percentages on it, but just the fact that this story came out coupled with what I have witnessed and seen with my own eyes over the years tells me as you say that it happens a lot more than we care to admit on both the college and professional level.
