Big NFL Trade

I know this happened earlier but i havn't had a chance to talk about it.

Denver traded RB Tatum Bell & OL George Foster to Detroit for CB Dre' Bly

I don't know about anyone else but i think this was a GREAT Trade for Denver. Tatum Bell doesn't do much for me and i'm loving Denver's secondary with Bly on one side and Champ Bailey on the other. These two guys have played their whole career with the opposing QB's avoiding them and going to the other side. Now what? It will be a TOUGH Defense with a good line up front too.

That's the 2nd big RB for Corner trade they have made. The 1st was Portis for Bailey.

I think they will most likely sign Bly beyond this year and to a long deal. Between this defense and a young & talented Cutler, we may want to keep an eye on the Broncos! (IMO)

This trade makes sense for both teams......Lions are decimated at RB and need OL pretty badly and Foster is no slouch and Tatum Bell IMO is a decent RB with supreme speed.

Bly is a risk taker and the new Lions regime really doesnt want him around (not because he cant play but change in scheme)

I actually think the Lions made out for a change because teams knew Bly was available so they maybe werent as inclined to offer value which is what I think the Lions got

This might be the first time ive liked anything the Lions have done......I actually hope they draft J Thomas from Wisky or Quinn....thats what they need....a franchise tackle or QB

He proved he was strong in the bench press, but I wasn't too impressed with what I have seen of him which hasn't been a lot.

Not once did you mention one of the big reasons Detroit got rid of him and it wasn't cuz they didn't like his game. They didn't want to pay him and they knew him being in his final contract year, they better get something for him. Tatum Bell is just another Kevin Jones imo. Hopefully one of them can stay healthy. I also think you have to know he looked alot better in Denver with their line and system then he will in Detroit. I think that's obvious and i think others like Reuben Droughns and Mike Anderson have proved leaving Denver isn't always easier. You could point to Portis but what has he done besides getting injured?

I think Denver clearly got the Best Player in the deal and that's what you want to do in any trade.

If Detroit has a chance to take Calvin Johnson, they have to take him IMO. 4 wr's in row, but this one would be the best. Kitna is fine.
