Air Force extended its home winning streak to 29 with a 69-43 rout of Utah. Ironically, the Utes were the last team to prevail on the Falcons' home floor, where they've won 53 of their last 54 overall. With the victory, Air Force also got payback for an 85-79 loss at Utah on January 16 that snapped a 13-game winning streak.

BYU also won its 29th in a row at home by holding off New Mexico 96-83 in Provo. The Lobos went on a 9-1 run late in the game to cut the Cougars' lead to 12 with two minutes to play, but could get no closer. BYU dominated the boards 41-27 and not surprisingly, 58 of its points came in the paint.

Cal-Irvine won for just the third time in 14 road outings this season with a 66-61 triumph at Cal-Riverside. Key to the Anteaters' success was a 49-28 advantage on the boards. Plus, Riverside turned the ball over 16 times.

Long Beach won for the seventh time tin eight games to take a 1 1/2 game lead over Fullerton State in the Big West by snapping the Titans' 15-game home winning streak with a 94-84 triumph.

Cal Poly knocked own 15 of 30 shots from three-point range to complete its first season sweep of Cal Santa Barbara in nine seasons with an 86-79 home triumph.

Sacramento State scored its final eight points from the line to snap a four-game skid with a 90-82 home win over Montana State.

Nevada started the second half on a 9-0 run to erase a two-point halftime deficit and then hung on for a 68-60 win over visiting San Jose State, notching its 16th win in the past 17 games. The difference in the game: The Spartans made it to the line only twice, missing both free throw attempts, while the Wolfpack converted 13-of-17 from the charity stripe.

Thomas Shewmake notched his second straight double-double with a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds in Cal State Northridge's 91-74 blowout of Cal-Davis. The Aggies have now lost seven straight since beating Northridge in double overtime in the season's first meeting.

Colorado didn't start its top two scorers in a 75-46 home loss to Kansas. Richard Roby, who scored 30 in the season's first meeting, was held to seven points off the bench, while Xavier Silas had only 11 as the two combined to hit only 6-of-22 shots from the field. The Buffs hit only 27% of their shots on the night and their 15 field goals represented their lowest total in six years.

Utah State held on to beat Hawaii 58-50 despite 25 turnovers. The Rainbows, who were 2-for-18 beyond the arc, pulled with four with 1:40 to play, but then missed two field goal attempts and the host Aggies scored the game's final four points.

Tennessee State erased a 10-point deficit with 6:38 remaining in regulation to eventually force overtime where it forged a 64-60 upset of host Murray State.

Ole Miss took over first place in the SEC West Division when Clarence Sanders nailed a 17-footer with less than a second to play to lift the Rebels to a 71-70 win against LSU in Oxford. Ole Miss snapped a six-game series' losing streak and improved to 13-1 at home in the process. LSU shot 61% from the field and dominated the boards 37-23, but the Tigers were done in by 16 turnovers, including one on the play that led to Sanders' game-winning shot.

So much for Duke's four-game losing streak as the Blue Devils jumped on Boston College early, taking a 43-32 halftime lead, and then put the game away with a 16-6 run to start the second half en rout to a 78-70 triumph. The Eagles were down by as many as 24 points before cutting the deficit to six in the final two minutes.

Villanova used an early 22-0 run to overwhelm Cincinnati 64-48. The Wildcats turned 12 Bearcat turnovers in the first half into 17 points to spur their run. Next up for Nova - Georgetown and Marquette.

La Tech held Idaho to 30.5% shooting and outrebounded the Vandals 51-38 in a 68-59 home win.

Wichita State missed injured starting guard Sean Ogirri in a 62-58 loss at Drake. Ogirri scored a career-high 29 points in the season's first meeting, a Wichita home win in January.

VCU snapped a 10-game losing streak in Wilmington with a 78-68 win over the host Seahawks.

Illinois-Chicago failed to score in the final 4:39 of a 65-55 home loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay.

Tulane bounced back from a 40-32 halftime deficit to down visiting Central Florida 86-80.

Siena rallied from 10 down with 7:34 to play for a 69-64 win over Fairfield. Siena, which closed the game on a 21-6 run, converted 21 Fairfield turnovers into 30 points in the game.

Florida overcame an 18-point second-half deficit to knockoff visiting Alabama 76-67 to end their winning streak to 17 in a row. The Tide jumped out to an early 22-4 lead and lead 42-31 at intermission before the Gators made their game-winning charge. Alabama is now 1-5 on the SEC road this season.

Ohio State nearly let a 21-point halftime lead get away in a 64-62 win at Penn State as the Lions' missed a desperation three-pointer at the buzzer in an upset bid. Penn State fell short despite closing the game on a 29-10 run.

Memphis rolled to its 14th straight win and improved to 12-0 in Conference USA play with a 69-52 win at Tulsa. The Tigers lived up to their defensive reputation by holding the Hurricane to 32% shooting from the field.

South Alabama won its 13th in a row with a 66-61 win at Houston, snapping the Cougars' five-game winning streak in the process.

Wright State, coming off a huge upset of Butler, used a late 15-0 run to pull away for a 68-55 win over visiting Cleveland State. The Vikings' upset bid was derailed by a dismal 6-for-25 shooting performance from three-point range.

Bradley needed a Will Franklin free throw with one second to play to nip host Evansville 72-71 after blowing a 42-27 lead at halftime. The Purple Aces cost themselves with 13 turnovers that lead to 18 points for the Braves.

Michigan State snapped a four-game losing streak with a 59-44 rout of arch-rival Michigan in East Lansing. The Spartans have won 14 of the last 16 series' showdowns.

Georgia Tech completed a season sweep of Florida State while earnings its first road win in nearly two years with a 63-57 triumph in Tallahassee. Javaris Crittenton led the way with a career-high 29 points. The Seminoles were done in by horendous shooting as they connected on just 26.1% of their shots in the second half, scoring a total of only nine points in the game's final 16:23. Florida State next plays three of its final four games on the road, traveling to Virginia, Maryland and Miami of Florida.

Eastern Kentucky won its sixth in a row despite being held to a season-low in points in a 46-38 triumph over visiting Samford.

North Carolina was 5-0 in Chapel Hill in ACC contests this season, limiting its victims to 63.8 points a game on 38.4% shooting, before getting beaten by Virginia Tech 81-80 in overtime. The Hokies, who had lost 18 in a row in the series before beating the Tar Heels in the season's first meeting, completed the season sweep in their first-ever visit to the Dean Smith Center.

Tenneessee snapped a four-game Kentucky winning streak in Knoxville with an 89-85 win as Chris Lofton pumped in 20 points in his best game since returning from an ankle injury. The Wildcats had won 10 of the previous 11 meetings, including a 76-57 decision in Lexington earlier this season, a game in which Lofton was sidelined. With the victory, Tennessee improved to 14-0 SU (10-2 ATS) at home despite nearly blowing a 16-point lead after Kentucky rallied to tie the game at 77 with 3:54 to play. But Lofton sank 5-of-6 from the free throw line in the closing 30 seconds to seal the victory.

Texas A&M was 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS since losing at Texas Tech January 24. Conversely, the Red Raiders were 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS in the same stretch. Both streaks came to an end when T-Tech remained the only Big 12 team to down A&M this year by completing a season sweep with a 77-75 upset of the Aggies in College Station. Jarrius Jackson popped a jumper at the buzzer, the last of his 31 points, to snap A&M's 21-game home winning streak as the Red Raiders completed a rally from an 11-point second-half deficit. The Aggies had held 35 consecutive foes to under 50% from the field - the longest such streak in the nation - before allowing T-Tech to nail 51.9% of its shots.

Creighton held Northern Iowa without a field goal for over eight minutes late in the game to rally for a 66-55 win over the Panthers. Nick Porter pumped in 17 of his career-high 21 points after intermission to lead the Blue Jays, who closed the game on a 19-5 run. Northern Iowa has now lost four in a row and seven of eight. Plus, the Panthers have lost 11 straight on the Blue Jays' home floor in Omaha.

Akron dominated Ohio on the boards, 40-27, and outscored the Bobcats in the paint, 36-18, in a 79-48 rout. The Zips also scored 27 points off turnovers to improve to 19-5 on the season, including 10-2 in MAC play.

Colorado State dominated the boards, outrebounding TCU 40-21, en route to an 96-66 win that snapped the Rams' five-game losing streak while extending the Horned Frogs' skid to 10 in a row. Jason Smith led the way with his 12th double-double of the season with 18 points and 14 rebounds. TCU last lost 10 in a row during the 1979-80 seeason.

Princeton misfired on 31-of-45 shots from the field in a 48-35 loss at Penn, the Tigers' seventh setback in eight games. Princeton used a 10-2 run early in the second half to tie the game at 29, but Penn countered with a 12-0 spurt to regain control.

N.C. Charlotte shot 48% and nailed 13-of-29 three-pointers to crush Louisiana-Lafayette 80-56 for its third straight win. The Ragin' Cajuns fell to 1-12 on the road.

Old Dominion avenged its only two home losses the past two years with a 96-82 rout of Hofstra, winning their eighth straight game in the process, accomplishing that feat for the first time in 27 years

Morehead State's 57-52 home loss to Jacksonville State last night was its ninth in a row as the Eagles' shooting woes continued as they hit only 34.4% of their attempts from the field, including a woeful 0-for-17 from beyond the arc.

UNLV's leading scorer, forward Wendell White (16.2 ppg), playing with a broken jaw suffered in the Rebels' previous game, was held to just 10 points in a 67-52 loss at San Diego State. UNLV shot just 21.2% in the first half and never pulled closer than 13 points after intermission as the Aztecs avenged a 68-61 loss earlier in the season in Vegas.

Tennessee Tech won for the 10th time in 12 games with a 65-61 road win against Tennessee-Martin. Tech's Amadi McKenzie scored 23 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to go along with four steals to pace the Golden Eagles, who shot 63.6% in the second half to rally from a seven-point halftime deficit.

Aleks Maric poured in a career-high 41 points to pace Nebraska to a 74-63 home rout of Kansas State, becoming only the fourth player in XXXX history to top the 40-point plateau.

Defense prevailed as Southern Ilinois nipped Missouri State 51-47 in a battle of the top two teams in the Missouri Valley Conference. The 16th-ranked Salukis, winners of nine in a row, entered the game holding its foes to just 56 points a game. The Bears entered having averaged 75.7 points a game.
