what would u do if your bookie really screwed up your number

what if he is just testing you to see if you will be honest with him.either way he don't care if you leave him or even if he cuts you off.in my opinion honesty is the best policy and this has happened to me before and my bookie said for me being so honest he said keep it.he also takes off something when i lose but i never give him anything when i win so he really dosen't have to treat me like that but he does,...do what you want rocko but just think about if it was you who was the book what would you want that guy to do,..good luck

I've had very little problems but when I did I've always been well taken care of because I've always been honest both ways. 1. Example: was using an old time book in Oklahoma one time and told him my figure was off in my favor. He canceled my bet and gave me a free bet for being so honest. This guy did $1,000,000 in book a week back in the 70's. 2. Example: I was going through a guy on BetChris on credit no money up front. One day I looked at my figure and I'm up way more than I should be. I brought it to their attention and it was a guy with the same last name and they credited me for his wins, thanked me for being honest and gave me a free bet. 3. Example: I've been with this guy for four years now, deal directly with him but he has an offshore site that I can call into or go online and bet. No money up front we talked to set up my account never have I met him in person, we pay at $3,000 either way and neither has ever been late. Just gave me a free $500 free bet on the Super Bowl and once credited me $500 for a hockey bet I placed when drunk and pushed the wrong side on a total. I just mentioned I made a mistake on voice mail not wanting anything just bitching about my mistake. He called and corrected to no bet, saving me $550, why? Because I have always been on the up and up with everyone I have ever known, even those who have screwed me. Sorry this was so long just think it had to be said, you can go through life fucking people because they fucked you or you can take the high road and be able to stand before the Big Guy and say I may not have been the best but I tried to do what was right.

Spark, I love you guy, but it doesn't make any difference how much I've paid it's how you live your life. I have always said if I only had the juice back I would be a rich man. Doesn't mean I would fuck my book or anyone else, it was my choice to start gambling and my choice to take the high road. What ever my bookie does is his choice. Good luck to you my friend.

1. Its his job to get it right.
2. If e is consistently wrong and has not said anything, he isn't testing you...he is just stupid.
3. If he is giving you the number first and his number is different than yours in your favor, and you agree with it, should he question you, you can always say that you lost a day or two of work and the number sounded right.

Never give a bookie a dime more than what the expect. The whole argument of doing what is right and you should be honest with these guys is bogus...these guys are out for your money and could care less about you individually.

JACK,in most cases i couldn't agree with you more ,but i deal with a guy i grew up with and know all my life.he is not only a book he is a friend and a true one.you are right most of them could care less if you losing everyday but in my case and im only speaking in my case i would never stick my book cause i know he would not stick me.

Well, good for you because your experience is in the <5%tile and I would not let your positive experience influence your opinionon all bookies. I am sure if you ask mthe board, the negative experiences far outweigh the positives... I won't bet with a local anymore....
