Frank....I really like the Lakers tonight. Nice revenge spot, getting 5 and rested. They seem to do OK on the road. May play the ML as well....What are your thoughts?

Lakers have done well playing for revenge. Since last season as an away dog the are 10-5 ATS BUT 3-4 v. teams about .600
Pistons are 1-4 ATS this season at home after beating their oppenent in the previous matchup. 0-3 if the previous matchup was on the road.
Lakers have not done well on the road with 2 days rest. 0-2 this season. Since 2003, after a road game 1-9 ATS and 1-5 as a dog.
Pistons have performed poorly as a home favorite this season 7-14 ATS and 2-6 v. winning teams and 0-5 vs. rested winning teams.
Frank, the Lakers have been downright horrible against Detroit over the last 5+ Years Ats overall and in Detroit. Do you believe in "Bad Matchups"? I know you have some great systems and i follow them. I myself do like trends (especially recent ones). I know you are not a fan of them but as in this case, can't it very well point out that Detroit possibly knows how to handle Kobe and the Lakers in various matchups on the floor, resulting in the dominance over L.A.?
Do you believe in that stuff, or no? I really like Detroit tonight.
I know you do...You're killing me, cuz I really liked the Los Angeles Kobe's tonight

In the Lakers last 5 games in Detroit going back to their finals matchup, the Pistons are (5-0), winning by 9, 22, 13, 8 & 20. The Lakers never seem to show up in Detroit for whatever reason and the Pistons are playing very well right now.
I'm one of those idiots, that when all things say this is the play or this is the trend....I go opposite. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not.....

I like trends, especially recent ones. I feel like it points to bad matchups and i think they are like habits, not easy to break. Yes, some say, trends are made to be broken BUT it is highly likely that if you stick to them, you will always stay in the game and keep your head above water.
I've always wanted to ask frank his opinion of a trend vs a system. I've thought about it many times and "To Me" they are one in the same. If a system is (30-20) when something happens, isn't that also a "Trend" that happens more often than not? Those two terms have always confused me a little.
I've never been a trend or system kind of guy. Maybe I should be. I don't know. When I have an instinct or do a little reading on a particular game, I seem to do OK. Sometimes I go with trends and get toasted. You seem to do quite well at it....We'll see tonight, should be an interesting discussion....
