I'm not sure they would of made it with James instead of Addai and Rhodes
Bet with your head...Not over it

    1 unit = $50
    2012 Record
    NCAA FB 0-0
    NFL 0-0

Dude, the minute he become a FA, Arizona offered a BIG deal and he bolted. Literally that quick. Indy didn't even have a chance to counter when he ran!
Because THEY WEREN'T TRYING TO RESIGN HIM Wayne. james was asking Indy to do a deal two years prior. Instead, Indy worked bigtime deals with Harrison, Manning, and Wayne instead. The writing was on the wall. There was no way they were goig to be able to give james anything close to what he was worth and still be able to field a defensive unit. Unlike the NBA, the NFL has a hard cap.

No offense, but your comment tells me all I need to know about how much you kept up with the situation. That whole thing was two years in the making. Do you really believe that indy was trying to resign him? If they wanted to keep him, it was as simple as slapping another franchise tag on him, and then working on a contract.

They instead chose to allow him to enter free agency. The majority of the time in the NFL when a team allows a guy of his stature to just enter into free agency free and clear, that's basically saying that both parties have agreed to part ways.

He still DIDN'T wait for one offer from them OR ANYONE ELSE. Greed, not winning is what he is about. He never gave anyone else a chance.

I already admitted that after he decided that returning to Indy was out of the equation, that it became all about the money. In fact, I said that in my first post. HOWEVER, he gave Indy their opportunity, and they basically decided to go in another direction.

Of course he didn't wait for them to counteroffer. They had ALREADY negotiated and had pretty much agreed to part ways. What in the world was there left to talk about with them?

Again, after it was obvious that he wasn't going to return to indy, it was all about the money. You won't see any arguments from me with regards ot that. BUT, you guys are making it seem as if indy was doing everything they could to retain him, and he just decided to take the money and run. That was HARDLY the case.

            HELLO!!!!!

Indy didn't want him gone but they didn't bother talking to him because THEY KNEW HE WANTED MUCH MORE MONEY THAN THEY COULD OFFER!

It had nothing to do with wanting him. If he wanted to stay and try to win a Title, they could have probably worked something out but edge had no interest in that so Indy went forward with other plans!

We'll just agree to disagree Wayne. No offense, but I'm fairly confident I know more about this situation than you do. if you want, get my email address from whomever you need to get it from, shoot me an email with your number, and we can discuss it over the phone. I'll put who I know up against who you know with regards to this particular situation every day of the week and TWICE on Sunday.

O.K. tough guy. It's not that important to me and certainly not worth a phone call. Edge took the cash and had zero interest in the "Hometown" discount. If you disagree with that, so be it.

tough guy? Who's being tough? I just wanted to talk offline because I didn't want to get into specifics on the board.

Tough guy?! All I can do is laugh at that comment. Talk about out in left field.

Oh well, agree to disagree. No biggie.

I didn't give up. I was tired of typing. Oh well, it's a dead issue.

Still laughing at tough guy, though.
