        Fairfield at Canisius
After starting off the season by losing 15 of its first 18, Fairfield has suddenly turned it up a notch and comes into the contest with a five-game winning streak, including road victories at Siena and Iona. The Stags beat higher-rated Niagara (68-56) in their last outing, while holding the Purple Eagles to 18 points under their season average. It was the second straight game the Stags had held an opponent under 60 points. Canisius has also won five straight, but has shown vulnerability at home by losing to MAAC rivals Siena (78-60) and Manhattan (60-51) last month. The Stags look like a good underdog pick (+4 1/2) in this one according to Dunkel, which has Fairfield favored straight up by 3. Dunkel Pick: Fairfield (+4 1/2). Here are all of today's games.

              Golden State at Philadelphia
The Sixers come into the contest playing their best basketball of the season in winning five of their last eight. The key to the success has been the combination of 7-footer Steven Hunter and 6-11 Samuel Dalembert in the starting lineup. The two combined for 25 boards as Philadelphia outrebounded New Orleans 58-40 in an 89-78 win on Wednesday. Golden State has lost is last six on the road and is just 4-17 away from home. The Warriors have been particularly bad recently as they have averaged just 95.5 points (10 below their season average) while giving up 119.5 points over their last two games. The Sixers look like a good pick to cover the Vegas line (-1) according to Dunkel, which has Philadelphia favored by 10 1/2. Dunkel Pick: Philadelphia (-1). Here are all of today's games.

                St. Louis at Detroit
Earlier in the season this contest would have looked like a blowout. But the Blues are much improved under coach Andy Murray and come in winners of seven of their last 10. The Wings, though, have had their number and are 13-1-2 in the past 16 matchups. They've also been almost unbeatable at home with a 18-3-3 record, including 10 straight wins. Detroit should pull this one out according to Dunkel, which has the Red Wings favored by 1. Dunkel Pick: Detroit. Here are all of today's games.

The Hawks had won three straight overall in this series before losing 105-92 at Toronto on Jan. 5 in the most recent meeting. SLIGHT EDGE: RAPTORS
Atlanta finished January with an 8-7 record. It's the team's first winning month since a 4-3 mark in April 2004, and the first time the Hawks have won at least eight games in a month since going 9-7 in March 2002. EDGE: HAWKS

The OVER is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings.

Boston has been without star guard Paul Pierce for 22 games and is averaging 92.5 points in his absence - a drop off of more than eight points per game. EDGE: CLIPPERS & UNDER

The Bulls are hopeful that center Ben Wallace will return Friday night. The team played without him on Wednesday night due to a bruised tendon in his left knee. Head coach Scott Skiles said the All-Star center could return either for this contest or Saturday at Golden State. EDGE: BULLS
