That LSU QB from last night will make some team a contender right from the start, barring injury. He can throw the ball 85 yds standing up, 60 yds on his knees and 40 yds sitting down....

Once again, I disagree. There's more to playing QB in the NFL than arm strength. There's been lots of QBs with rocket launchers for arms that have failed miserably.

That being said, 85 yards is amazing.

I think it's more complex than that. While I agree it's important for the QB to read the coverages teams now disguise coverages.

IMO what separates the great QB from the others is once the play starts. Their ability to read the coverage in a heart beat. Then check off the intended receiver to their 2nd and 3rd choice. I think that's what makes Brady so good.

In zone, the middle of the field or flat is always open. In man to man, it comes down to the receiver betting the DB, nothing more than that.
It's not really complex. I lined up in practice covering Swann, Sweeney, Bell, and Stallworth, back in 1980. It didn't matter how well I covered as it was Bradshaw, Hanratty firing the ball away where I was standing.... As a cornerback, we never let a receiver release inside and gave away the flat most of the time, because it was easy to make a tackle near the side line, than it was to in the middle of the field. Our first responsiblity was to take away the slant.
Why do you think TO sucked so much this year, because the DB's forced him to run outside close to the side line, where he would run out of room all the time.

Bears one of the most overrated playoffs teams with an easy schedule, lack of offense. Basically turnovers and special teams are there best hope.
