    I agree 100%

    It may not make him a better player but the fact he wasn't afraid to say it and be honest about it in public earns alot of respect in my eyes. It certainly is refreshing compared to the stereo typed answers. I've always liked Rex and his play has been brutal. I'm just not giving up on him yet though!

      I disagree! When I saw the interview I was immediately thinking he was making excuses for his poor play.

          Except for last year when I was wrong about Peyton I often agree with you.

            He was. He said flat out he didn't prepare. What more can he say to make himself look worse. A real athlete isn't afraid to criticize himself. No?

                I agree with THAT. Fans that rip their team's QB all the time don't seem to realize how few good QBs there are. I think there are only twelve good ones in the whole league right now and at least ten that are just awful. The other 10 are fair.
                Good ones (in no particular order):
                Brady
                Palmer
                P. Manning
                Young
                Green
                Rivers
                Favre
                Delhomme
                Brees
                Leinart
                Hasselback
                Bulger

                Fair
                Pennington
                McNair
                Roethlisberger
                Carr
                Garrard
                Brooks
                Romo
                Garcia
                Vick
                Hasselback
                Smith

                Rotten
                Losman
                all for the Dolphins
                Frye
                Cutler
                E. Manning
                Brunell
                Grossman
                Kitna
                B. Johnson

                  IMO you are being generous with this list.

                  While Young, Rivers and Leinart were impressive I'll reserve putting them on the good list.

                  Green=Fair
                  Delhomme=Fair
                  Bulger=Fair

                  The 3 mentioned about can't be put in the same class with the others. Maybe we need 4 lists. Very good, Good, fair and bad.

                    When a QB gets to the line of scrimmage, the first thing he has to do is to read if the defense is in a zone or in man to man. Nothing more....What makes a great QB from an average to poor QB in the NFL, is when he can read the RIGHT COVERAGE the minute he gets behind center or in the shot-gun and where the opening will be and has the arm strngth to get the ball there on time.
                    Qb's like Payton Manning, McNabb, Brady, Brees, Favre, and McNair are great at doing that at this time. Most of all the others are still in the learning stages and some will never learn it because by the time they do, they don't have the arm strength to throw to the open man on time, (aka Eli Manning)
                    That LSU QB from last night will make some team a contender right from the start, barring injury. He can throw the ball 85 yds standing up, 60 yds on his knees and 40 yds sitting down....

                        this is very true. IMO their are less than 5 really good QB's in the league.

                        brady
                        palmer
                        p. manning
                        breez

                        the rest IMO are 2nd rate and pretty much suck. but i must say i believe that eli and rex are 2 of the worst starters in the entire NFL

                          That's a given in the NFL.

                            I think it's more complex than that. While I agree it's important for the QB to read the coverages teams now disguise coverages.

                            IMO what separates the great QB from the others is once the play starts. Their ability to read the coverage in a heart beat. Then check off the intended receiver to their 2nd and 3rd choice. I think that's what makes Brady so good.
