#11 Notre Dame (Independent), takes on #4 LSU (SEC), and the line is currently at LSU -8 and total at 55 1/2.......Both teams are 10-2.....

Sagarin has the ratings as shown below....

ND Playing as an 86 vs 74
LSU..................92.....73.......considering LSU almost having home field advantage, and will have crowd advantage, applying this against the 8 pt spread......is about even....with maybe LSU being 2 pts better than the spread......

ND has an All Amer QB (Quinn) who has passed for 3278 yds, 35 TDs, and just 5 Int's...63.4 % completions to some hi quality receivers.....

LSU has a QB (Russel) who had 2797 yds, 26 TD's, and 7 Ints...68.5 % to also some hi quality receivers......

ND...33 ppg, 398 ypg
LSU.33 ppg, 404 ypg....pretty even here

Defense yields
ND...22.4 ppg, 320.5 ypg
LSU.12.5........238.8......third in the Nation

Here's your difference in the game....ND had trouble with speedy defenses, and this is a pretty damn fast one.....

ND's team speed on the defensive side of the ball is also gonna be a problem, cause LSU is quick, and their receivers have good ATC yards avg....difference once again is speed....

ND lost to a good Mich Team, 21-47, and a real good USC team 24-44.....Notice the points given up in those 2 games....

LSU lost to Auburn, but just gave up 7 pts, and Fla giving up 23.....They had 9 turnovers in these 2 games, due to good defensive squads in Aub and Fla....does ND fall in this category...Nope....

Will LSU totaly shut down ND....NOPE

ND will get theirs, give up plenty to LSU, and LSU will prevail, based on sheer team speed, special teams....A lot of talk about Quinn, well I think mr Russell from LSU has some pretty salty stats of his own....I am a firm believer that when teams are closely matched, speed is a predominant factor in making my choice....THUS ....I see a 31-21 win for LSU.... here's what I'm doing today..........

They're not gonna run on Cinn anyway, and vice versa....Both are anemic on offense, and good against the run.......Passing will dictate, and the edge goes to W Mich IMO.......kapt

Would be better with Mond in there, but I see no real significant difference...
