    Saturday's List of 13:

    Nobody asked me, but..................

    13) There are currently eight undefeated college hoop teams; this time last year, there were 18.

    12) Ben Howland's UCLA team is ranked #1 in country; the team he left to come to Westwood, Pitt, is ranked #2.

    11) Duke is last in ACC in scoring (in hoop, not football), ranked 287th nationally (out of 336) in turnover percentage; 26% of their possessions end in turnovers, which is alarming only because the pace of their games has been slow

    10) Blue Devils are less explosive than normal, but also better defensively, partly because the pace of their games ranks 293rd in country. They're still pretty darned good, and being young, they'll get a lot better if their offense improves.

    9) If you invest in college basketball, you know that 22 of 31 D-I leagues are covered by Vegas rotation; two leagues I'd like to see added in future are Atlantic Sun and Southland.

    8) Of the ten teams in country that are playing fastest-paced games this year, two are in A-Sun (Jacksonville, #8 Campbell #2). VMI-Campbell-Houston are three teams playing fastest paced games so far this season.

    7) Stanford is best defensive rebounding team in country right now, but they lost by 34 at home to Air Force.

    6) NC State has no depth, but they're staying close in games because they don't foul; Wolfpack ranks #2 in country in opponents' FTs tried per field goal attempt.

    5) Bradley is getting 46.2% of its points on 3-pointers, way too high a percentage. Manhattan is getting only 12.6%, the lowest percentage in country.

    4) Giants are only NFL team that hasn't allowed a point on opponents' first drive in their last eleven games.

    3) If you think going to ballgame is expensive, keep in mind that mezzanine tickets to 11:30am Saturday Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall are $88 a pop, and you can't go early to watch batting practice.

    2) Devil Rays are moving three home games in May to Disney complex; what does it say about your franchise when you want to move three home games to a stadium with seating capacity of less than 10,000?

    1) Wonder what Mr Matsuzaka was thinking as he stood on mound at Fenway for first time, and saw that very large wall in left field, 300 feet (or less) from home plate?
