Sunday's List of 13: Wrapping up a busy sports Saturday

              13) Guess Andy Pettitte got sick of having his family around.

              12) Wichita State completed an amazing run of Saturdays; in stretch of four weeks, all on Saturdays, all on road, Shockers won at George Mason, LSU, Syracuse and Wyoming.

              11) There is a middle school in Las Vegas named after former Runnin' Rebel hoop coach Jerry Tarkanian.

              10) Deltha O'Neal became the 8th Bengal arrested this season There are only 53 guys on whole team. Now we know why the Bengals' helmets have stripes on them.

              9) The top 12 scorers in Big East basketball last season have all departed, so league figures to be at least a little down.

              8) Nets led 22-2 Saturday, trailed before halftime, and lost at home to Celtics for eighth setback in last ten games, the kind of loss that get coaches fired.

              7) Fear not, though, Nets are still tied for first, despite being 7 and freakin' 12. Knicks are only half game out of first.

              6) With six new coaches in Big 12 this season,. Iowa St hoop coach Greg McDermott was seventh in league in seniority, before he ever coached a game for the Cyclones.

              5) Dennis Erickson sure gets around; is he the first guy ever to coach at three schools in same league? Erickson is the new head coach at Arizona State, after having coached at Oregon State and Washington State.

              4) Erickson leaves Idaho after one season, the second time he bolted the Vandals for greener pastures. Lets just say Idaho's AD didn't sound real happy about it on the school website.

              3) Good addition to college hoop telecasts is former Stanford and Warriors' coach Mike Montgomery, even if it is for only one year, until he coaches again. Montgomery actually talks about basketball during the game, an amazing concept.

              2) Funny how the Heisman Trophy show is an almost eternal seeming hour in length, but they never have time to mention OJ Simpson. What is OJ wanted to come to New York for the show, would they tell him no thanks?

              1) Allegheny Gators came back from 15 down at half to upset 6-2 Ohio Wesleyan Saturday, 73-70 in OT. Battling Bishops, who play in Branch Rickey Arena, came into the game making 44% of their 3's- they were 6-24 in Meadville Saturday. Gators are now 4-3, 1-1 in the NCAC.
