  • Has Anyone Said This Yet?

If USC beat UCLA like they should've wouldnt Michigan have been ranked 3 in the polls and Florida 4? Am I the only one who thinks the whole country and Las Vegas knows Michigan is better than Florida but the polls were rigged because people didn't wanna see a rematch?

Florida is a great team but if USC wins that game Florida finishes ranked 4th in the BCS......thats not an opinion rather a fact. I really dont give a damn at this point either way but the human element in the BCS needs to be thrown out.

IMO they need to have nothing but computers decide this because all the humans do is vote bogusly......the BCS, IMO, isnt flawed.......the human polls are.

If anyone can convince me that Florida wouldve been ranked 3rd if USC wins that game than I will never say another word about this

    PEACE

If USC beats UCLA I still think Michigan is the second best team, but the polls would've had So Cal #2 and UM #3

I think USC would of been in the title game because of who they are. Florida would of been 4th and Mich 3rd. But what the hell do I know.. Good post MCP--I think you are on to something.

You are probably right, but it's tough to tell 100%. Before last weekend, Florida was not the SEC champions, now they are.

Great Post Pimp. Seems like Forida was just an afterthought and it was only between Mich and USC for the spot in the title game until USC lost. Even during the USC/UCLA game the announcers kept referencing Mich and its fans about the implications of a USC loss. I was out celebrating with friends at a bar after USC lost and then I start hearing the talk about Florida. Makes me sick, the whole system sucks! Its supposed to be the 2 best teams, it doesnt matter about what conference theyre in or if they already played. Mich got screwed. I cant wait to watch Fla get blown out by the Buckeyes!

Yes, I'm agreeing with you. Florida still would've been #4. But my point is that I think the Wolverines get screwed either way. Either way I still believe they are the second best team in the country.

If Michigan plays So Cal, Wolves win. If they play Florida, they win. That's bottom line. They need a playoff. I'll go as far to say if Mich plays OSU again, Wolves win. Michigan got shafted. OSU-Mich play 100 games they each win 50. But if OSU plays Florida or So Cal, Buckeyes dominate a 100 game series. Michigan should be given another chance but they werent'.

That is right on. It already has been said throughout the media that the reason Flordia got in was because the humans meaning the media and coaches did not want to see a rematch. That is the flaw! Agreed, the best teams should be there. Flordia is in because everyone thought "NO" OSO Mich rematch. Flordia should actually use this as motivation but I don't think it will matter.

I could agree more Ronnie.....Most of the Coaches that voted haven't even seen either Florida or Michigan to know who's better.....Boise St Coach said today on the Jim Rhome show that he voted for Florida but was really clueless as to who should really play OhioSt....He said most coaches have their Assistants or Athletic Directors vote and it is mostly about politics when voting.....And until they change the system, there will always be teams on the outside looking in...

It's pretty sad to see a team like Boise go undefeated and we will never know how good or how far the have come without having a playoff system....Div 1AA, 2, and 3 all do it....

I disagree. Florida's win over Arkansas was meaningful. To win the SEC and and have to win a playoff game besides is impressive. Michigan's schedule and accomplishments were less than Florida because Michigan beat only two strong teams all year (Notre Dame and Wisconsin). Florida had more quality wins.

Also, as much as Michigan fans don't want to accept it, losing to Ohio State is a virtual disqaulifier for being ranked against comparable one-los teams that didn't lose to OSU. I have considered Flordia stronger than Southern Cal all along.

If Southern Cal had beaten UCLA, I would have ranked them:

                          1.Ohio State
                          2. Florida
                          3. Michigan
                          4.Southern Cal

The BCS always gets the right two teams (I'm America's opnly BCS supporter) which is why they got it right again.

Besides, Ohio State is better than everybody anyhow.

I think your last paragraph states something that is being grossly overlooked. All I keep hearing about is how Michigan got shafted, but what about Boise St? I know people will say they aren't that good, they didn't play a tough schedule, OSU would throttle them, etc., but what were people saying about the BCS Title Game before UCLA beat USC? Nobody thought UCLA could/would beat USC just like nobody thinks Boise deserves a shot at OSU. IMO, it's BS, and there have been greater upsets so why not give Boise a shot. If anyone remembers that undefeated Utah team a few years ago, I watched a lot of their games being a MWC fan, and that team was legit meaning they could've played with ANYONE, and yes, by anyone I mean USC, Oklahoma, and Auburn that year. IMO Boise is getting the bigger shaft than Michigan.

There was absolutely nothing from that Nvo 18 game to suggest that Michigan would beat Ohio State if they played again. They got 2 unforced turnovers (freak snaps, whereas a fumble or INT is a forced turnover) and got dominated by both of Ohio State's front 7's. Only 1 time after the first 5:00 of the game did Michigan even have the ball with a chance to take the lead.

Anyway, here is a fun little page that shows how all the coaches voted, enjoy:
