              Fairfield at Providence
Providence continues to put up big numbers. Since upsetting Boston College, the Friars have won three straight over George Washington, Columbia and Rhode Island by an average margin of nearly 25 points. Sharaud Curry continues to have the hot hand and comes in averaging 18.2 points and 5.2 assists per game. Fairfield has stumbled to a 2-7 record out of the gate with the only wins coming at home against lower-rated Central Arkansas (46-43) and St. Francis of NY (68-64). The Stags lost to UConn earlier by 25 (74-49) and could be looking at a similar result against a hot Providence team. The Friars should cover the Vegas line of 18 1/2 according to Dunkel, which has Providence favored by 23. Dunkel Pick: Providence (-18 1/2). Here are all of today's games.

                Milwaukee at Utah
It's been a good road trip so far for the Bucks as they've picked up wins versus the Lakers (109-105) and Warriors (115-110), while hanging close in a loss at Phoenix (122-116). Scoring has not been a problem for Milwaukee especially for Michael Redd, who had 45 against L.A. and followed that up with 37 against the Suns. Tonight they'll face Utah, which has looked a little sluggish over the past week, dropping three of their last five including a 30-pointer (132-102) against the Lakers. Scoring has been a problem at times for the Jazz as they went a three-game stretch where they averaged only 78.66 points. Against a Bucks team that brings a lot of offense to the court right now, Utah could have a difficult time covering the Vegas line of 7 1/2 according to Dunkel, which has the Jazz favored by just 3 1/2. Dunkel Pick: Milwaukee (+7 1/2). Here are all of today's games.

                  San Jose at Dallas
The Sharks have been perfect (3-0) on their current road trip while allowing only three goals in wins over St. Louis, Minnesota and Detroit. The victory over the Red Wings also marked the return over forward Jonathon Cheechoo after missing six games with a leg injury. As San Jose looks to be getting stronger, the Stars have been slumping. Dallas did snap a three-game losing streak on Saturday, but needed another slumping team (Minnesota) to do it. The Sharks look like a solid underdog pick in this one according to Dunkel, which has San Jose favored straight up by 1. Dunkel Pick: San Jose (+1 1/2). Here are all of today's games.

Monday's List of 13: Wrapping up an NFL Sunday

                          13) Denver's loss makes it 12 losses in row for rookie QB's in their starting debut. Shanahan sabotaged this season back in April, when he traded up for Cutler, making it very obvious he wanted Plummer replaced as quarterback.

                          12) Brett Favre is on cover of Sports Illustrated, Packers trail 31-0 at the half. What would inspire SI to put him on cover? Packers are out of it, Favre's skills are fading; seems like lack of originality not to come up with a better cover.......

                          11) Rex Grossman was 6-19 with three INTs Sunday; Chicago had 24 net passing yards, but still won by ten points. Lovie Smith says Grossman won't be replaced, because Bears are winning, but he has to be at least a little concerned........

                          10) Bears now have 24 giveaways in their last seven games; you have any idea how good their defense is, to overcome numbers like that?

                          9) Edgerrin James carried ball five times for 32 yards on first Arizona drive Sunday, a week after he carried ball four times in whole game at Minnesota.

                          8) Texans had minus-5 passing yards for game, but won 23-14 at Oakland. Each team scored a defensive TD.

                          7) Raiders started four drives in Houston territory, scored one TD. Who in Oakland thought Aaron Brooks was good?

                          6) If you laid the points with San Diego, very bad beat, as the Bills had TD drives of 19,13 yards early in third quarter to get back in game after being down 17-0 at the half.

                          5) NFL office must have sent memo out on chop blocks this week; saw few of them called Sunday, which is unusual.

                          4) Derek Anderson looked good subbing at QB for Browns after Charlie Frye broke his wrist. Anderson played at Oregon State, is 6-6, fairly mobile, and showed good poise. Another kid who sat and watched for while before getting to play.

                          3) Chiefs had TD drives of 85-80-99-77 yards, and lost.

                          2) Why did Tampa Bay kick a field goal on last play of game, down 20-0; does getting shut out matter that much?

                          1) Titans had ball on Colt 42-yard line with 0:12 left, game tied and were lining up to punt. Colts called timeout, wind picked up a little behind Titans, so Fisher sent out kicker Bironas to drill 60-yarder to win game. Some fine game management by Tony Dungy. No wonder he struggles in big games.
