The more I like at his lifetime stats. in comparison to his salary, the more I don't believe they paid what they to get him.
Maybe I am exaggerating a little bit the other way, but all things considered by my valuations, he is worth no more than 4 million a year, and even that is too high;I hope the Sox know something that I don't.

Well put savage, wayne, and everyone else on the same side of the argument .... Sox let Damon walk and offer JD Drew a 4 year deal???? Are you F'n serious??? BIG RISK here at 4 yrs ... also a little "inside birdie" with very good information told me if the signing is announced, the Dodgers and MLB will be investigating tampering chargers ..... so this one is far from over....

Now if the Sox wanted to be the other Drew that amount of money, An "Druw" Jones, I might feel a little bit differently.

only this regime could get involved with tampering with a stiff like JD Drew.

Nothing would make me happier than to somehow get this absurd deal cancelled.
Can you imagine what other players on the Sox are going to want when they say what this guy is getting?
Sure-why not give Tavarez 10 million or so a year also? its only money after all.

They traded for Pena saying they wanted to get younger and cheaper in the future. Everyone assumed he would take over for Nixon in right. Instead, they are going after JD Drew? Drew has 20 HR's and says he doesn't want to play more than 140 games for $14 Million? Your kidding right? Pena would EASILY hit 30+ HR's if he played a whole season in right and he is sitting on the roster.

Why the hell are they worrying about Right Field when we have no SS, 2B, Closer, Middle Relief or backup catcher?

WTF is wrong with them? I still believe when all is said and done, you will see Lidge in Boston, maybe in a trade for Pena???

I also would like to see them make a run at Aubrey Huff. The guy can play 1st, 3rd and RF. He would be a nice fit in those positions!
