Sources say JD drew will sign with the redsox for 4 years at 56 million dollars!! Holy shit!!!! Also sources say that Matsusuka will get 3 years at 45 million... Turns out Matsusuka will be a 96 million dollar man for 3 years... just hand over the redsox the championship... UNFAIR!!!!!

Matsuzaka signed?
No link yet, but apparently ESPN radio in Boston is reporting that Daisuke Matsuzaka has been signed for $45 million over 3 years. I think that's a huge mistake for the Red Sox, unless Boras simply wouldn't have it any other way (in which case I'd be shocked that the deal got done this quickly). In today's Hardball Times, David Gassko claims that Matsuzaka would be worth $22M over 3 years or $49 over 4 years, once the posting fee and possible Japanese revenue streams are taken into account.

I think Zito is very good...my two issues with him (and keep in mind, I am home typing on an internet chat forum and not behind the GM desk for the Mets) are that he is not worth, imo, the type of #1 money he is demanding and I also question if he can pitch in NY. Very Cali, very laid back....not sold that he can thrrive under the NY microscope.
