I think Zito is very good...my two issues with him (and keep in mind, I am home typing on an internet chat forum and not behind the GM desk for the Mets) are that he is not worth, imo, the type of #1 money he is demanding and I also question if he can pitch in NY. Very Cali, very laid back....not sold that he can thrrive under the NY microscope.

I see where you're coming from, but slightly disagree. I think he can pitch in New York, and he may seem over-rated, but he really is solid, and he always has been. He never gets hurt, he's an innings eater. Starters are in demand right now, so Zito will be overpaid.

what happened to larry and theo crying a few months back about not having unlimited resources, can't compete with yanks, cant spend crazy money, can't buy everyone like the yanks, showing restraint, blah blah blah
