                            Monday's List of 13:

                            Wrapping up an NFL Sunday

                            13) Chargers scored TDs on six consecutive possessions and scored 42 points in second half. If I were the Colts, lightning bolts would be last thing I'd want to see in January.

                            12) Baltimore is 7-2, but if your favorite team was facing the Ravens in playoffs, would you really be that worried?

                            11) I almost never watch the Lions, but we did today, because I stupidly picked them; they showboat every time they make a good play, not that there are that many of them. The energy they waste in acting like fools is amazing. Horrible team.

                            10) 49ers outgained Detroit 247-102 in first half,.as Lions, for some reason, didn't come ready to hit or be hit. One of their DBs dropped a sure INT for TD in first half, too.

                            9) Cleveland did nice job containing Michael Vick, who isn't very good when he doesn't run. Vick showed his true colors with 16-40 passing performance, and game-ending fumble on last drive. Don't get carried away with the Browns; their two TD drives were 46,41 yards. Their offense is still pretty bad.

                            8) In first half of Cleveland-Atlanta game, Vick was 9-22 in the air, while Browns enjoyed 28-yard edge in field position.

                            7) Bears used shotgun formation for first time this season on Sunday, leaving Bucs as only club not to use it in 2006.

                            6) What is it with kickers and the open end at Heinz Field?

                            5) Stephen Jackson always wears an eye visor, but didn't in Seattle Sunday,. maybe because rain was fogging it up. He is an excellent back, but his talents are being wasted this year.

                            4) Scott Linehan was personally responsible for Rams' loss in Seattle, twice eschewing field goals to go for it on 4th down, when Rams hadn't scored an offensive TD all day- Orlando Pace was lost for day (torn biceps). They let Seattle stay in it and finally Seahawks hit big punt return, a real killer.

I like Linehan as a coach, but he was a real rookie Sunday.

                            3) Another year, two more wins for Mike Shanahan over the Raiders. Al Davis should have given him the $250K when he fired Shanahan, because he's been paying for it ever since.

                            2) The more I think about it, the more I like the Saints in NFC; they gained over 500 yards in Pittsburgh Sunday. Bears and Giants have huge question marks at quarterback. Dallas isn't out of NFC East race, either.

                            1) The only people who can curb this celebration nonsense are the last people who would want to, the TV networks; say the networks all agreed never to show showboating on TV--it would be reduced greatly, quickly. Don't hold your breath.

                              Six-Pack for Monday

-- Hasn't Ohio State-Michigan always been the noon game on Rivalry Saturday? They have it at 3:30 this week, against Alabama-Auburn. Unfortunate scheduling.

-- I wish I were an umbrella salesman in Seattle.

-- My 80-year old dad jumped on Rutgers' bandwagon, and the networks have to, after the huge ratings the Louisville game got last week.

-- The NFL record for most games without losing twice in a row is 81 games, set by Packers from 1938-45. Dallas, from 1965-70, went 67 games, the more modern record.

-- Virginia opened up their beautiful new basketball arena in style, upsetting Arizona, 93-90.

-- Opening line for Ohio State-Michigan is Buckeyes, -6.5.
