even espn said fiu started the shoving....an fiu guy came on the field with a crutch and started swinging it.....i said it before and i will say it agian im not saying what they did was right at all....but a fight broke out...people are gonna jump in no matter what team it is...where are all the threads about clemson and south carolina being a bunch of thugs? i dont remember seeing those anywhere.
JBC, please do not think I am picking on you but c'mon...there is a PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR at Miami, unlike Clemson and SC. This isn't the first time Miami has acted like a bunch of thugs and I would be willing to wager it won't be the last.
Don Strock, FIU HC, came out and said this would be the last time anything like this happens at FIU...Coker never would have the balls to make such a statement.
Here's my two cents worth...
First off it's quite ironic to me that both schools are located in the same areas, Miami-Dade County. If that county fell off my beloved penninsula floated away and established itself as the third world country it has become I wouldn't lose a minutes worth of sleep.
Secondly Coker is TOTALLY to blame. He does not take Character into consideration when recruiting, case in point Willy Williams (arrested during a recruiting visit at Florida, which violated a burglary charge, his 8th arrest I believe but still met the standards at the U). Miami never has.
he is just a misunderstood college kid who made 8 mistakes.......he is actually a nice guy....Has to feed his kids.....
Football Notebook | Miami, FIU add to punishment
By The Associated Press
MIAMI — Of all the images from the sideline-clearing brawl between Miami and Florida International on Saturday, added punishment was handed out Monday for three of the most violent:
• Miami's Anthony Reddick wielding his helmet as a weapon and smashing it into an FIU player. His one-game suspension was changed to an indefinite one.
• FIU's Chris Smith wrestling Miami holder Matt Perrelli down and appearing to punch him in the chin. Smith was dismissed from the team.
• Marshall McDuffie Jr., Smith's Golden Panthers teammate, then kicking Perrelli in the head. McDuffie also was dismissed.
FIU's new sanctions also included 16 other players — each was originally handed a one-game suspension. Now they have been suspended for an indefinite period.
The NCAA, in a statement released Monday, called the fight "wholly unacceptable" and said it hoped the added sanctions show "that such behavior is not tolerated."
Thirteen Hurricanes were suspended Sunday for one game. Miami athletic director Paul Dee and commissioner John Swofford of the Atlantic Coast Conference decided Monday that Reddick — who charged across the Orange Bowl field and swung his helmet at FIU players, striking at least one — merited more than the one-game suspension.
FIU said its suspended players all would have to complete 10 hours of anger-management counseling and 50 hours of community service, plus would be on athletic probation for the remainder of the year.
Miami, which won the game 35-0, said it also would order its suspended players to complete community service.
JBC..that is what leaders on your team are for....to help make sure the team represents themselves well...I am sure on most saturdays most tempers run high enough to fight (they are playing a contact sport), but rarely does it spill over....and when it does it generally is no more than a shoving match....Cooler heads prevail......But not here....Alot of it has to do with them knowing each other from the streets and talking shit and wanting to be at miami...this was not a surprise i heard on 790 am yesterday...That being the case don't you think this and the repercussions should have been discussed with theplayers.....
But there is a different mentality at Da U and it is all over the commentary by lamar thomas....He is not the exception down here...>This is how ex-players and miami players feel....It is a gang mentality.....Do you think they think in those terms at Ohio State or Michigan? I doubt it....This is not an isolated incident and should not come as a surprise to anyone, let alone you since you live down here.......
It is really hard to believe anyone could really be a Miami fan. What redeeming qualities do any of them have???
miami does not have any leaders anymore...lamar thomas is a complete jackass for what he said...like i said it happened in south carolina...are they considered a bunch of thugs....i cant really write a detailed response i am bout to leave for class then work so i am out.

I don't think it could be said much better...
Money won is twice as sweet as money earned.

The amazing thing is Merriweather, the guy stomping on anyone he could find, hasn't been suspended for more than one game yet. If he suits up for Miami agian this year, it is a joke.
You can take the homie out of the hood...but you can't take the hood out of the homey....
If you are going to use my material, I would appreciate proper acknowledgement, or else you willleave me with no alternative than to have my lawyers call your lawyer....

I ain't sweatin' it, triple T, but that's how I roll....you down wit it?
the funny thing is that the fucking president of MIAMI U said all the kids recruited are of great character.....fuck i saw an outside the lines where they showed the high school were most of their players come from and the coaches there
1. talked more shit than anything...they were running this place like a jail
2. I saw were a coach got into a fight with one of the players and nothing happened....
3. they didnt focus on academics and the coaches admitted that shit...
I think this school's program is classless and needs to be overhauled and built from the ground up...they've been getting away with behaving like the fucking criminals they are for way too long...in louiville they wanted to start a fight too but instead the cardinals put an ass whopping to them during the game...
ALL I have to say is Miami players and the program is a fucking disgrace to football and should be shut down

I was at the Louisville game when they jumped on the cardinal logo, the first thing that came to mind besides calling my local and doubling down on my bet was what a bunch of classless losers. There assitant coaches were out there with them showing how classy they are.
I have 0 respect for the whole Miami team and their coaches.
And yes we put the beat down on that trash as they deserved it
