Another point regarding Maine. He only gave up 2 hits. The walks killed him.Originally posted by rented mule5 walks in 3 innings is bad in part because it increases pitch count, although one of those walks was to Pujols with the bases empty. The Mets should not be throwing strikes to Pujols, in a tight game, with the bases empty. Period.
That being said, he does need to work on his command, especially early in the count and my guess is that nerves and inexperience played a little part there.

I saw that stat last game. Beltran .320 at home and .217 at home. That is more than a fluke. There is something to that.Originally posted by frankb03Mets need to get on the road so Beltran will start hitting.MLB (2014): (3-4) -.9 units

What could it be, though? I doubt he's pressing at Shea. He has an MVP type season and the fans loved him this year. Shea is not a hitters park, so that would account for the difference in the power numbers between home and road.Originally posted by weazel079I saw that stat last game. his legs, forearms are abnormally large. Even his head is big.Originally posted by rented muleI know it's unfortunate to think this way, but when I see Pujols stand in the box and see how immense his quads are, it makes me wonder how they have gotten so big. His legs are unnaturally huge.
I'm sure it's just protein powder, though.MLB (2014): (3-4) -.9 units
