hey bud, I made this post myself not too long ago...i was actually away for 4-5 months, I came back and started betting 10/20/30 bucks a game, very reasonable amount for my income....and in fact...I have actually been winning. It's a great feeling to be in control and to be smart. If I can do it, I'm sure you can....take a few months off, decide if you do it for fun or to make money, if you do it for fun, come back and enjoy it, if you do it cause you are trying to make money....take some time off and stay away.

I've heard a lot of the same stories the last 5 weeks then ever before. I dont know what is going on, but I know very few people that are winning this year. Me included. Take some time off and do something different and interesting on Sundays.

I recommend laying off a while too, but I realize that is easier said than done. I had a friend get in a similar bind, and I like what he did. To satisfy the addiction, he didn't want to quit cold turkey. So what he did is just started betting parlays, and doing small amounts. Bet $10 and do a 4 to 6 team parlay. You aren't going to win most of the time, but it allows you to follow multiple games to satisfy the urge, and when you get the occasional win it will pay off nicely.

Dirty, A Few Years Ago I Droped 12,000.00 Thank God I Had The Money. I'm 60 Now And Smarter After That Week I Told Myself I Would Never Give My Money Away Like That Again, So I Pick Myself Out Two Moirning Games And If They Win, I Pick Out Two Games And Double Up On The One I Like Best If I'm Still Up For The Night Games I Pick Out Two More And Double On One The One I Like Best. If I'm Up Sunday I Play An Early Game For 1/2 Of What I'm Up If I Win The I Pick Another Late Game And Double On It And So On. I Make Sure It's On The Tv Never Chase You Will Never Catch. Try to walk away for a while...you'll be amazed how much free time you will have instead of watching the computer or TV. It's also a lot more enjoyable watching the game when you don't have to worry about who scores, that last minute drive that blows the spread, etc.

If you come back, bet only a few games, not every game on the board...keep it small and don't chase. If you lose your budgeted amount for the week, your done...

it works I done it, money management work too because majority of the time if you bet big you lose & small bets win.

Wow thanks for all the advice guys. I'm really shocked by all the response. I know it happens to everyone from time to time. Hopefully I will learn from it this time.

I know why it didn't work out this year. I didnt start with the proper bankroll. That is huge in gambling. I got up big after week 3 hitting 10-11 winning 4600. When I started losing, I started chasing for 2 weeks straight betting on games almost every day trying top make up for my losses quick. SO STUPID. I'm definitely done until I rebuild my bankroll, get a real job and just use gambling as a hobby not as a reliable income. Thanks again.

p.s. I'm definitley not done with this site. You guys are the best!

Dirty Mike- I have to say that I have conquered my gambling demons for the year once again. When I lose 2 in a row- I backed off and wait for some big fish to get near the boat. I have held off now for several months (August 10th) and have not even bet on my 10* bets that have a strong 70% plus winning level to it. I don't mind helping others win right now but I do have to discipline myself from gambling at this time as I did last year.
You are smart to walk away and cut the bleeding-- even if you win -- you are psychologically doomed to try and get the rest back-- usually ending up in failure-- why-- because I find that when you are down-- it is tough to take the dogs in your bid to recoup money. You may tend to jump on USC, Auburn in college and Pro's Indy, Pittsburgh, etc and lose sight of what a dog can do to a spread. I wish you the very best and remember --your life isn't to be a gambler-- its much more than that-- realize your full potential in love and career -- then come back with this as dessert. Cut back your units to a comfortable level ! It should be fun to play ... you should determine where the puking level is and pull back to somewhere short of that ! And, NEVER EVER chase !
If it all goes South one day ... take your Lumps and WAIT for a better spot to play .

Just like playin' Blackjack if your losing you can't start Doubling Up and expect to WIN !
