          Hey Mike,
it sounds like you're in a bad place right now, so I hope I speak for a lot of the BC members here by saying 'I've been there'. take it easy for awhile, lay off betting for as long as you need to/forever, and focus on other things. take care DM.

I'm sorry to hear about your plight. Sports betting should be fun. If it's not fun than one is betting too much.

I agree with Frank. I bet sports for the enjoyment of it. I'm an analytical person and I love the challenge. I grind out nice profits but when i have a bad losing day, week or month, I do feel it.

You should never bet to a point where you can get in trouble. Then it ceases to be fun and, worst of all, it leads to chasing.

Mike, if you don't quit, I would urge you to follow a couple of good cappers here and play at exactly the amounts they recommend or equal amounts if they don't rate their plays by units. Stop making your own bets for awhile. Do NOT try to get even. Each day is a new day.

I say this because almost no one who says they are going to quit actually does quit. Try to change your approach. if you follow a couple of guys and get on a nice roll, consider playing your own picks again. But bet only what you are comfortable with. I've seen a lot of guys screw their lives up betting sports but I've also seen the enjoyment it can bring. Best of luck to you.

Same here. I've always loved sports. I'm not a sports fanatic like I was in the past. I was a die hard Giants, Mets, Rangers and Knicks fan. I lived and died with my teams. None of it matters anymore. With age one realizes how unimportant sports is in day to day life. There was a time if the Giants lost I was pissed off for the next few days.

Sports betting keeps me involved in my favorite hobby. At this point in my life I bet what I can afford to lose. It truly has benefitted me as a capper. I no longer get over-emotional when I'm capping and make a bet. Now if I have a bad day I equate it to a night out.

Also, except for NFL football I rarely watch the games I bet. Too much aggravation.

hey bud, I made this post myself not too long ago...i was actually away for 4-5 months, I came back and started betting 10/20/30 bucks a game, very reasonable amount for my income....and in fact...I have actually been winning. It's a great feeling to be in control and to be smart. If I can do it, I'm sure you can....take a few months off, decide if you do it for fun or to make money, if you do it for fun, come back and enjoy it, if you do it cause you are trying to make money....take some time off and stay away.

Vondie, congrats to you buddy. Capping is easier and more fun when we aren't risking the month's rent.

Thank you sir, and it's true, wanting to win and NEEDing to win are 2 totally different things.

I'll tell you all I'm a $15.00 to $50.00 player. It just seems that when I throw down it never works out for me. And you guy's are right, I have more fun winning playing little money than losing big money. Even like today, I had a 3 team parlay for $35.00 and won $115.00. We have all been there Mike, I know I have. If you come back try keeping it lite. $20 turns to $40, $40 turns to $80 and so on. Best of luck to you Mike.

i hear ya ...i have had a pretty rough start myself. Sometimes its best not to focus on the stuff. u got beat up and will recover as long as u dont keep playing. Its tough to win....you gave it a shot and there is nothing wrong with finding greener pastures in some other way. gambling swallows alot of guy not smart enuff to quit. BEST OF LUCK

Mike, take care of yourself man. Sounds like laying off might be the best choice for you. If gambling is controlling your life, it's time for a change. Good decision.

Hey Mike. Sorry to hear about your financial problem. I"ve gone through that myself a few times. Let me share a little story with you. A former friend of mine maxed out 3 $10,000 credit cards after I cut him off of going through my book because I got tired of paying his bills and waiting a month to get my money. So he ended up going through another friend of mine that only booked his action. After he was down $1500 his dad made him wear a wire and busted my buddy. My suggestion to you, I don't know how bad you're down and it's none of my business but take a little time off and if you decide to come back keep it at $10's and $20's. And if you can't do that it may not be a bad idea to quit for good. Good luck in whatever you decide to do
