I won last night with another dog as the Indians blew out the White Sox.

    1* Padres +156
Six losses in a row with last night's debacle. Unlike most other historic collapses, the Cardinals are doing this all on their own. Usually, a second place team gets hot and catches the team with the big lead but Houston and Cincy aren't really moving up so much as St. Louis is imploding. The overall record masks the fact that the Cards are a lousy team. They are 22-33 their last 55! That's just .400 ball for more than one-third of a season. Yet, they are a very fat price tonight against a hot team that is looking to nail down a playoff berth. Williams has been outstanding for the Padres with SD 15-8 in his starts and an off-the-charts ROI of +715. He has given up only two earned runs in his last 17 2/3 innings. There's more: San Diego has won 10 of 13 and has an outstanding 41-34 record on the road. Carpenter may be the NL Cy Young winner but he was hammered in his last start. Tremendous value here going against a team that may be in the middle of an epic cave-in.

As always for me, list both pitchers.

I hope the team that I can sell tickets for the greatest price makes it... whether that be St Louis or Houston I do not care... but lets go Phillies!!! I would love to see them make it and the Padres somehow on the outside looking in..

Somebody better perform a tracheotomy on St. Louis quick. Down to 1 1/2 games! I watched the whole thing as I rooted in my Padres winner and the St. Louis stadium was like a morgue. Honestly.........they weren't making a sound.

Man....as a Mets fan, i'm rooting like hell for the Cards. I don't want any part of Houston with their rotation and coming into the playoffs smoking hot, if they were to make it.

Ditto...this could be disasterous for the Mets if the Cards don't make it....

I wish Garner would start Oswalt today and then again on Sunday or Monday. Not sure why, at this point, you'd leave any bullets in your gun. Why not squeeze 2 more starts out of your ace? But Hirsch has not been bad lately. And Phil didn't consult me.

you are 110% right. if he throws oswalt today, he could go again sunday, and pettite saturday both on 3 days. essentially, he could have the big 3 pitch 4 of the last 5 games if he did this, but what do we know. garner still puzzles me at times, but this should be a fun week
